Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Marci heads home from the club only to be pursued by the driver of what vehicle?

Answer: Jeep

Marci, partying out at a club, gets a drink and complains about the poor quality of the night. She and her friend grab a drink at the bar when she spies a guy watching her across the room. When the guy comes over, the two flirt. He introduces himself as Wyatt and they dance together for the rest of the evening. The two have sex in her car and the night ends on a sour note when Wyatt complains that she'll probably ask for his number, text every day, and move too fast-- just like his ex.

After Marci kicks him out, she drives home alone. On the highway she's pursued by a man in a Jeep flashing his lights and riding on her bumper. She speeds ahead, believing she lost him, but he rams into the back of her vehicle when she's not expecting. She swerves down a side road, losing him as she turns into a car wash. It's a good enough hiding spot; the Jeep doesn't find her there.
2. Marci possesses which of these distinctive features?

Answer: Wine stain birthmark

When Marci gets home to her husband, Chaz, she explains the situation to him. While Chaz has no problem with her going out to the club, he does worry about her safety, insisting that recent news reports aren't encouraging and that a serial killer could be out there preying on women. He suggests that, perhaps, she try internet dating (which she refuses), or perhaps he could join her at the club.

As Marci wipes her makeup clean and readies herself for bed, she reveals the wine stain birthmark on her face. Chaz tells her she shouldn't cover it anymore. As they head to bed, she puts her wedding ring back on.
3. According to the old urban legends, a woman was pursued by a man in another vehicle. Who actually killed her?

Answer: The man in her back seat

Marci awakens during a rainstorm in the middle of the night. Heading upstairs she checks to see that all the doors are locked and, when she hears odd sounds in the house, she grabs a flashlight, eventually finding a window open in the wine cellar. Chaz finds her there shutting the panel and believes she's worrying about the guy in the Jeep.

The next day, Marci talks to Piper about her and Chaz's relationship; their open relationship seems to be on the rocks. It's been nine months, but the situation doesn't seem to be working for Chaz. The conversation turns to the recent spate of missing women, all of whom went clubbing and never returned home. Piper worries that Marci may have been pursued like in the old urban legends; she might have been lucky to get away. The catch is that they guy in the old urban legends, pursuing in the other vehicle, was only ever trying to warn the woman in the other car; someone was in her back seat.

Marci reassures Piper that she'll be fine, but Piper says she'll still come to the club as her backup provided she doesn't bring men back to her car.
4. To ensure Marci's safety, Chaz does which of the following?

Answer: Follows her to the club

Though Marci stays true to her word that she won't bring a man back to her car after a night at the club, Piper finds her there, that night, with a woman in the passenger seat. Naturally she's not impressed. Piper asks if she's a sex addict or, perhaps worse, making up for her trauma in high school. It results in a fight between the two, and Piper storms off, accusing Marci of using her and mistreating her husband.

When Marci reenters the club she's surprised to find Chaz amongst the dancers there. It takes a bit of prying, but he admits he's there to make sure she's safe. After a bit of shaming, she forces him to leave.

At the end of the night, Marci heads to her car and walks through the parking lot to find a Jeep parked nearby. She hops into her car as she watches the driver get behind the wheel and head out only this time, she pursues them, memorizing their license plate before they swerve to catch their off-ramp.
5. As Marci determines via social media, where does Paul work?

Answer: A kitchen supply store

While the nightclub disappearances continue, Marci starts to research what she can, following her hunch that the Jeep driver might be a bad guy. Chaz confronts Marci the next morning and asks for answers, suggesting that perhaps he get an apartment elsewhere and see if separation can improve their relationship.

Using a license plate lookup site, Marci punches in the plate she memorized and finds that it belongs to a man named Paul Theodore Winowski. Though she doesn't have an address, a search engine gives her what she needs; she identifies Culinaria, a kitchen supply store, as Paul's place of employment and she goes there to confront him.
6. Marci follows Paul to his house. Does she break in?

Answer: Yes

Marci scopes out Culinaria and, when she finds that Paul is working, she heads inside. Though she initially hopes to confront him for what he did the other night, she instead gets caught off-guard and pretends to be shopping for a new cutlery set. What occurs is a bit more unsettling as he flirts with her and suggests that the knives he wants to sell her could be used to get rid of her existing boyfriend or husband. She leaves without telling him what she knows.

That night, Marci follows Paul's Jeep to his house and watches him through the windows as he gets into the shower. Breaking in through the unlocked back door, she grabs a knife, ironically from the set he demonstrated earlier, and advances deeper into is home.
7. Why did Paul hit Marci's vehicle?

Answer: To warn her of the person in her back seat

Marci makes her way to Paul's bedroom and lets herself inside to find a series of newspaper clippings on his walls, all chronicling the disappearances at local nightclubs. When the shower stops running, she finds herself trapped. She hides under Paul's desk and waits for him to dress and leave, only emerging when she hears the front door close. To her surprise, however, he never left; he comes around the corner with a bat when she tries to make her escape.

He recognizes her immediately and she makes her case, insisting that she only stalked him for answers.

The catch is that Paul was never trying to hurt her; he was trying to warn her. That night, when he left the club, he saw someone in the back seat of her car. He did all he could to get her to understand the severity of the situation.

She was lucky she wasn't killed.
8. Marci is successfully able to sedate Paul with which of these?

Answer: A syringe

Once Paul's recounting of events comes out, he connects the dots and determines that Marci was the one who followed him out of the club the previous night. He thought she was actually the killer, pursuing him for what he did to her car.

Marci puts down Paul's knife and thanks him for looking out for her, but she insists no one could have been in her back seat. After all, she didn't see anything and she's still alive. Moving in and flirting with Paul a bit, she suggests that maybe they go out, but as she tells him her name is Marci, she injects him with a sedative.

Paul fights back, strangling Marci for attacking him, but he's hit in the back of the head with his own baseball bat. Chaz, having followed Marci as well, prevents her from suffocating. He tells her that he cares too much about her well-being and safety. He picks her syringe up off the floor and reminds her she needs to use a stronger sedative; the one she uses takes too long to kick in.
9. Where does Marci bury the bodies?

Answer: In her wine cellar

Marci and Chaz, returning home, tend to Marci's neck injury before Marci gets to work. She tells Chaz that she doesn't deserve him for all the care he gives her and he lets her know he found an apartment in the city. After she's done with Paul, he'll help her clean up one last time.

When she heads down to the wine cellar, Marci enters the secret room where she's tied up Paul. Grabbing a series of weapons and surgical tools, she admits the truth to her victim-- there was someone in her back seat, but he wasn't a killer. He was a victim; her sixth. She's taken it upon herself to rid the world of its scummiest misogynists, sedate them with a powerful animal tranquilizer, torture them, and bury them in her wine cellar.

Marci had to hunt down Paul because of his act as a good samaritan; he risked getting her caught in the act. She believes her one act on this Earth is to put an end to the types of guys who bullied her in high school and victimized her for her deformity.
10. Do Marci and Chaz separate in the end?

Answer: No

Marci admits that she found a way out of her trauma because she found a partner who could support her through her struggles. It allowed her to pursue her goals. As she takes a blade to Paul's throat, she explains that he's quite tired and Chaz deserves an early night; he'll have to bury Paul and things haven't been going well for the two of them lately. It gets her thinking, and after planting the blade into Paul's head, she heads upstairs to speak to her husband, apologizing for her recent attitude. She asks him to join her; the two of them can share in their activities together. He agrees. It's a big step, but it'll bring them closer together.

Marci and Chaz quickly secure their first victim, bringing Marci into their cellar and tying her to the seat. They profess their love for one another before taking their first strikes at the same time.
