Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Starting this second season of the race in Singapore, teams had to find a Merlion statue at what location?

Answer: Mount Faber

In the first leg of the race, teams commenced their long journey at the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore and raced on foot to taxis in the area. Before their first day ended they'd located a Merlion atop Mount Faber and performed a high-up Detour task atop two buildings in Suntec City.

After this, teams spent the rest of Leg 1 and the entirety of Leg 2 in the Philippines where Edwin and Monica became the first team eliminated from the race. Excluding the starting line, all of the locations visited in Singapore in this first leg were visited in the U.S. version of the show in its third season.
2. In the third leg of the race, teams visited Causeway Bay in what major city?

Answer: Hong Kong

Leaving Manila, teams needed to fly to Hong Kong, one of the largest financial cities in the world, to locate the Central Pier. Here, teams were directed to the Standard Chartered Bank building in Causeway Bay where they all had to count a large amount of money and get the correct total to receive their next clue.

These were the only tasks in Hong Kong. Halfway through the leg, teams needed to fly to the city of Auckland, New Zealand to finish their Detour and Road Block tasks.
3. During the fourth leg of the race, teams completed which of the following at Hell's Gate in New Zealand?

Answer: Road Block

After several tasks around Auckland in Leg 3, teams drove over to Rotorua to participate in a series of high-octane tasks in the water. Sledging at Okere Falls, Jetboating at Lake Tikitapu, and wading through the geothermal mud baths of Hell's Gate, teams ended up eventually completing the Road Block at the last of these locations.

The task involved locating a stick hidden in the mud baths and trading it for a clue. After this, teams completed Maori-themed tasks before checking in at the fourth Pit Stop in Te Puia.
4. In Leg 5, teams had to visit the Sony building in Ginza, Tokyo and use which of the following products to complete a task?

Answer: HandyCam

Heading to Tokyo in Leg 5, teams started by visiting Shiba Park in the late evening and then going on a whirlwind tour of the city. This included stopping off at the Sony Center to have some fun with locals (on Sony HandyCams), finding a cosplay girl at Shibuya Mark City, completing a puzzle at a local ice bar, and then heading out via high-speed train to the city of Fukukoa. Leg 5 was held in two parts connected by a mid-point pseudo-Pit Stop in Fukukoa; for the second half, teams completed further tasks in Busan, South Korea.
5. In Leg 6, teams had to find the Pit Stop at the Olympic Peace Plaza in which former Summer Olympic host city?

Answer: Seoul

Taking the ferry from Japan to Busan, South Korea in the previous leg, teams made their way through rural South Korea in Leg 6 stopping at cultural villages and soybean farms en route to the next Pit Stop. After a long day of primarily physical tasks, teams advanced by car to Seoul, the capital city of this Asian nation, where they checked in at the unique World Peace Gate. Marc and Rovilson took their fifth consecutive win here while Terri and Henry were spared by a non-elimination leg.
6. In Prague, Czech Republic (in Leg 7) teams found a clue on the Charles Bridge, but where was it?

Answer: In a statue

In Leg 7, teams took an eight thousand plus kilometer journey from Northeastern Asia to west-central Europe flying from South Korea to the city of Frankfurt, Germany. Upon their arrival, teams then took an additional train trip to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, where they had to find a clue in a 'holey' statue, the statue of St. Vitus, atop the Charles Bridge.

This clue proved difficult for some teams who chose to over-analyze the task at hand. After a series of tasks in the city, teams took a train to the town of Beroun before ending the leg at Karlstejn Castle.
7. In Prague Castle in Leg 8, teams encountered which race mechanic for the first time?

Answer: Intersection

Returning to the city of Prague in Leg 8, teams needed to find Prague Castle mid-way through the leg. Here, they found the first and only Intersection of the season, so teams needed to pair up to complete their next task (shooting hockey goals at an ice rink) and their Detour (a choice between 'Snap' and 'Roll' in the city streets) before splitting up and continuing on with the next clues. Because Terri and Henry were so far behind the other teams, Paula and Natasha had to wait five hours to intersect.
8. Another European castle?! In Leg 10, teams visited which city, completing one task in a castle labyrinth?

Answer: Budapest

Legs 9 and 10 both took place in Hungary with teams beginning in Budapest in Leg 9, then returning to the city for the entirety of Leg 10. For the Leg 10 Road Block, teams found an underground entrance to the labyrinths beneath Buda Castle where one member of each needed to head inside to search the winding corridors for a treasure chest containing their next clue. Also in Budapest, teams visited Margaret Island, Heroes Square, and the Freedom Monument. Erzsébet Bridge was the site of the race's only Fast Forward.
9. In Leg 11, teams had to find a clue box atop Signal Hill in what South African capital?

Answer: Cape Town

Although South Africa has three capitals, teams needed to fly from Budapest, Hungary to Cape Town to complete their next series of tasks. Amongst these, teams traveled to the top of Signal Hill to search through several clue boxes for one containing a clue, they had to speed around a race car circuit for the Road Block, and they had to do charity work for a local daycare.

In the Detour, teams traveled north of the city to Aquila Park Game Reserve to end the leg with a safari of animals. Finally, the game was narrowed down to the final three as Ann and Diane were eliminated.
10. The finish line for this race was in Singapore at which of these landmarks?

Answer: Jurong Garden

After ten countries, Adrian and Collin crossed the finish line at the end of the Rainbow Bridge in Singapore's Chinese Jurong Gardens. During this final leg of the race, teams had a rainy day at the southern tip of Africa before flying back to their very first city of the race, Singapore, and completing a final, nail-biting Road Block task which would ultimately decide the $100,000 (USD) winners of this season.
