Quotable Hurley- Part One Trivia Quiz

Charlie: "You okay, Hurley?"
Hurley: "Did either of you see a guy run through here... in a bathrobe... with a coconut?"
Charlie: "No... saw a polar bear on roller blades with a mango."
Eko: "I did not see anything, Hurley."
Hurley: "Yeah... me neither."

Dave had used the coconut to throw at Hurley in an effort to make Hurley realize that he wasn't hallucinating. He then picked up another coconut and took off running into the woods. Hurley gave chase, but quickly lost Dave in the brush before coming out into the clearing. I got to say though, Charlie holds his own with the comedic timing. The two of them together make a great comedic duo.

Answer: crapped out $1.35 in nickels

Which means Buster ate 27 nickels! Which makes me wonder just who counted that money... Anyway, Hurley tells this story with a huge grin on his face, but Sun seems a little grossed out by the end of it. When the silence that ensues gets a little awkward, Hurley asks Sun if she's ever had a dog. Sun says she has and tells Hurley the story of her dog, Bpo Bpo.

Answer: Who the hell are Scott and Steve?

This is the scene and episode where Hurley devises the plan to check off everyone's name with the plane's passenger manifest. This decision was crucial to the plot of the show as it is what led Hurley to realize that Ethan was never actually on the plane, which consequently led to wide spread viewer speculation about "others" on the island.

Answer: "Your wife's hot."

Jin doesn't respond to this either, which seems to satisfy Hurley for the time being that Jin does not understand English. Jin then makes Hurley eat the sea urchin, which then makes Hurley barf... or hurl, even. (wink)

Answer: Yeah, I'll get right on that

Hurley's face is priceless as he says this, and although his mom couldn't see his face she certainly heard the sarcasm in his voice. She then tells him to at least try eating better because he's gaining weight again. At this point, however, he's found the lottery channel and is more focused on the numbers.

Answer: we do get to sleep in every morning

Jack then questions Hurley about the numbers and Hurley is forced to tell Jack the story about the mental institution and winning the lottery and thinking that the numbers were cursed. Jack dismisses the story and instead chooses to focus on the fact that Hurley has just admitted he was in a mental institution. Hurley insists the numbers are cursed but Jack doesn't agree with Hurley and instead tells him that they're just numbers.

Answer: Dying

Jack takes exception to this comment and tells Hurley that he's not dying. Hurley points out that he has turned yellow. Jack explains that the wound is infected, but that the antibiotics will fight it off. Hurley speculates about the antibiotics possibly not working, and Jack tells him that if that happens, the marshal's body will begin to shut down one piece at a time.

Answer: I kept calling you Steve, man

Scott and Steve are sort of a running gag on LOST. Not only did the survivors seem to mix them up, but even us viewers never got a clear idea of who was who during season one. Even after Scott's death, Steve is only referred to in passing and is never clearly identified nor does he have any part in the dialogue (yet).

Answer: Throws doody at people

Hurley had packed a couple tubs of peanut butter as Libby came into his shelter on the beach. She observes that he's packing a lot of peanut better, and Hurley explains that he's going to need a lot of protein where he's going. Libby then asks where he's going which is what leads up to the Hurley quote.

After he says this, Libby tries to convince Hurley not to go, but he is determined and starts his trek into the forest.

Unfortunately, neither the song nor Hurley's singing voice succeed in calming the baby down. In fact, it seemed to aggravate him. When Hurley shrugs and says that's all he's got, a frustrated Charlie is forced to find another way to calm Aaron down. Luckily for him, he later happens by Sawyer whose voice seems to work wonders, and it's only when Sawyer is not talking that Aaron cries.

Hurley looks genuinely disgusted at the thought of even having to go near the plane, so instead of arguing with him, Jack simply tells Hurley that he will take care of it if Hurley stays to look after the marshal. Hurley doesn't even hesitate and practically runs to the marshal's side, happy to be relieved of the horrifying task that Jack is going to undertake.

Answer: It's a gift

Hurley and Sawyer are in Sawyer's shelter. Sawyer is laying on his bed made out of airplane seats and has on this ridiculous pair of girly sunglasses. Sawyer is more amused by Hurley's request than he is outwardly curious about it, so he allows Hurley to take the manifest which is in a suitcase nearby.

Answer: Steve didn't know about the polar bear

By this time in the series, Scott had been long dead, and it's amazing that Steve didn't know about the polar bear. This scene takes place on the beach and Hurley looks annoyed about all the hidden truths. He appears to continue mumbling to himself as Jack and Locke talk about more pressing matters, one of them being the fact that Locke just found out about Kate's fugitive status.

Answer: pissed off giraffe

Rousseau is sympathetic after Hurley's little rant and tells Hurley all she knows about the numbers. She tells him she agrees with him that the numbers are cursed, which is what Hurley's been wanting to hear all along. Hurley thanks Rousseau by wrapping his arms around her for a good old fun-time bear hug.

Hurley goes on to say that he's realized that the reason why he feels like he knows Libby from somewhere is because he made her up, meaning she's just part of the whole hallucination. Libby takes exception to this and asks Hurley to tell her the name of the man she helped with the broken leg that died on the other side of the island. Hurley thinks for a moment but cannot come up with a name. Libby then explains that he doesn't know the man's name because it didn't happen to Hurley, it happened to her, which therefore proves that Hurley couldn't have made her up and that she's real. Libby then kisses Hurley and tells him that the kiss was also real... Hurley suggests she kiss him again just to make sure.
