Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

"The Art of Crime" ("L' Art du Crime") is a French television series that blends crime drama with the art world. The show follows Antoine Verlay (Nicholas Gob), a tough and straightforward police detective, completely and utterly indifferent to art and culture, and Florence Chassagne (Eléonore Bernheim), an art historian with an eccentric personality who converses with the artists as a way to get over her mother's death, as they team up to solve complex crimes connected to the art world. Their contrasting methods and personalities create tension and chemistry, forming an intriguing dynamic as they investigate various art-related mysteries. The series combines elements of classic whodunits with a unique cultural and artistic background, offering viewers a captivating blend of suspense and intellectual intrigue. Two of Paris' most iconic museums, the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay, offer their treasures as the backdrop to this series that has gained enthusiastic followers worldwide.

S1E3&4: In "A Gallant Death," an art student is found dead during a party in a position that imitates an Antoine Watteau painting.
S2E3&4: In "An Injured Man," a set of postcards painted by Courbet becomes a morbid treasure hunt since a new dead body appears with each card.
S2E5&6: "The Devil's Painter," is about a victim's mysterious tattoo that leads to a lost Hieronymus Bosch triptych.
S3E1: "A Ghost at the Opera," is about a dead dancer at the Opera Garnier and the Degas painting that haunts the building.
S4E1: "Van Gogh's Testament," is based on a dead art critic's theory that Van Gogh didn't commit suicide but was murdered.
S4E2: "The Blood Dance," is about a Moulin Rouge dancer with amnesia and a fixation with Toulouse-Lautrec.
S5E1: In "Heart of Stone," a wealthy collector and friend of Florence's father has been murdered. All the clues point to Camille Claudel's love affair with August Rodin.
S5E2: In "The Delacroix Code," a Delacroix aficionado is murdered at the Louvre and the only witness is a teenager with hypermnesia.
S6E1: In "The New Olympia," a young woman is found dead and the murder scene is the recreation of a Manet painting.
S7E2: "The Lost Muse," is about a woman found dead next to a Botticelli masterpiece she was restoring.

In the seven seasons and twenty-two episodes of the series so far (2017 - 2024), there aren't any episodes with the five red herrings (Warhol, Picasso, O'Keefe, Freud, Hockney), mainly because they don't fall into the category of "old masters" in Paris museums and therefore within the sphere of expertise of Florence Chassagne as described in the show.
