Answer: Tampons

Having never traveled outside the Boston Quarantine Zone (QZ), Ellie is happy to visit a general store. Most of the shelves are bare but Ellie finds a door that leads into a basement. In the basement she finds Tampax Pearl tampons that she is excited to have. Also in the general store, Ellie finds an arcade machine but is saddened to see that it is no longer working.

Answer: Knife

After Ellie stashes the tampons, she notices that there is an infected trapped under rubble. She closely inspects the infected and then takes out her knife and stabs it in the head. The other infected that she had seen before were taken out by Joel and they were not trapped so this was the first time that Ellie is seen up close to an infected but not in danger.

Answer: He hides in his basement.

Joel tells Ellie that most people wanted to be rescued and evacuated by the soldiers. However, if there wasn't enough room or the person was weak oftentimes they were killed instead of being brought to the QZ. Bill on the other hand did not want to be taken away by the military so he hid down in his basement when the soldiers were evacuating people. Bill had seemingly been preparing for an apocalyptic event as he had a stash of necessary supplies down in his basement.

After the military went through his town, Bill ransacked local stores to get gas, wine and supplies to make traps.

Answer: He fell into a pit.

Frank has cameras monitoring outside of his home and traps that alert him when an infected or person is close by. At first he thinks that an infected has fallen into the pit but Frank tells Bill that he is not infected. Bill has a machine that scans Frank and confirms that Frank isn't infected. Reluctantly, Bill invites Frank inside.

Answer: Rabbit, potatoes, carrots and Beaujolais wine

Frank tells Bill that he hasn't showered in three days so Bill lets him use the shower. Bill prepares a meal during this time of rabbit, potatoes, carrots and Beaujolais wine. Frank tells Bill how impressed he is by the meal and that not everyone knows to pair rabbit with a Beaujolais. Flattered, Bill comments that everything tastes great when you're starving.

Answer: Linda Ronstadt

Frank is about to leave Bill's house but he notices the piano and Bill tells him it's a 1948 antique. Frank sees Bill's record collection and he takes out "The Best of Linda Ronstadt" album. Bill sings and plays "Long, Long Time" and he kisses Frank for the first time.

Answer: Radio

Frank tells Bill that he has been talking to a nice woman on the radio and he wants to invite her and her boyfriend over. Bill is against the idea and tells Frank that their life is fine as it is. Frank persists and eventually Joel and Tess come over for dinner. Bill has his gun out during the dinner but Joel eases his mind by telling him that they have things in the Quarantine Zone like machine parts, books and medicine that Bill does not have.

As they leave, Frank tells Tess the decades-based code he will use on the radio that gives her information about supplies and danger.

Answer: Seeds for a garden

When Frank tells Bill that he traded one of his guns for a packet of seeds, Frank assures Bill that it was just a little gun and he has dozens more. Frank shows the garden that came about from the seeds and they eat some fresh strawberries.

Answer: A degenerative neuromuscular disorder

The episode jumps from 2013 to 2023 and while Bill is older than Frank, Frank has developed a degenerative neuromuscular disorder and is confined to a wheelchair. Frank is unable to eat, drink, open pill bottles or bathe himself normally. On their last day together, Frank tells Bill he wants it to be a good day so they marry each other and share the same meal as they did when they first met. Tragically, Bill decides to take his own life too the same night.

Answer: Keep Tess safe.

Bill addresses the letter "to whomever but probably Joel" knowing that Joel would probably be the only one able to get past his traps. Ellie reads the letter and stops when she sees that Bill tells Joel to "keep Tess safe". Tess had died in the prior episode after she was bitten by an infected called a 'Clicker' but Bill and Frank were unaware of this. As they leave in Bill's truck, Joel gives Ellie three rules:
1) Don't bring up Tess.
2) Don't tell anyone about your condition.
3) Whatever Joel says goes.
