The Autons were first encountered in a story called "Spearhead from Space", which was the first story to feature the third Doctor. This was in 1970.

2. In the episode entitled "The End Of The World", what creature had a famous voice actor?

Zoe Wannamaker was the voice of Cassandra. She is famous for being the mother in the UK comedy show "My Family".
