Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In episode "Rose", Clive tells Rose something chilling before she leaves his house:

Answer: The Doctor always travels with a companion - Death

This is the first time that a new Doctor has come along without us witnessing a regeneration (other than the first Doctor) and this was a steadfast decision made by executive producer Russell T. Davies for the benefit of the new audience.
2. In episode "The End of the World", as the Earth enters the final stages of oblivion, what piece of music does Cassandra elect to play on her MP3 player?

Answer: Toxic - Britney Spears

Any of those songs would have been better than "Toxic".
3. In episode "The Unquiet Dead", Simon Callow plays Charles Dickens reading his "many and sundry works" to honour the children's hospital in the city. On what night of the year in 1869?

Answer: Christmas Eve

This story, I assume, was designed to mirror "A Christmas Carol" and was inspired by Mark Gatiss' love for gothic stories.
4. The entire series of thirteen episodes is cleverly set in only four different geographical locations. Which of these is not a location for an episode?

Answer: Manchester

London is the set for seven episodes including "World War Three" and "The Empty Child". An underground base in Utah is the set for "Dalek". Cardiff (where production of the show is based) is the set for "The Unquiet Dead" and "Boom Town". The final location is a space station orbiting Earth for the other four episodes including "The End of the World" and "The Parting of the Ways". Manchester is the city nearest to Christopher Eccleston's place of birth.
5. In episodes "Dalek" and "The Long Game", The Doctor and Rose travel with Adam, an employee from Henry Van Statten's underground museum. What was his nationality?

Answer: British

Bruno Langley plays Adam, and is most famous for appearing in "Coronation Street". Many people thought that Adam would turn out to be the eponymous "Bad Wolf" after absorbing most of Earth's history, but were later found to be wrong in the final episode of the series.
6. In episode "Father's Day", Rose causes a paradox in space-time by saving her father's life. How was he destined to die?

Answer: Car accident

I had a short conversation with the guy that wrote this episode in Norwich back in 2004 and even shook his hand. He's particularly verbose.
7. How many episodes were set prior to 2005, when Rose joined the Doctor (double episodes count as two)?

Answer: Four

Four episodes were set in the past: Mark Gatiss's 1869 tale "The Unquiet Dead", "Father's Day" set in 1987 by Paul Cornell and "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" by Steven Moffat set in 1941. Despite being the principal writer of the series (and of the Christmas special), all of Russell T. Davies eight episodes were set in either the future or the present.

The only other guest writer was Robert Shearman who wrote "Dalek" set in 2012.
8. In episode "The Doctor Dances", Captain Jack saves The Doctor and Rose from a falling German bomb, but what was written on the side?

Answer: Schlecter Wolf

In every episode of the series the words "Bad Wolf" appeared somehow, mostly in English but also in German (episode 10) as above, Welsh (episode 11) "The Blaidd Drwg Project", and in French (episode 5) the TV reporter "Mal Loupe". The reason for this is explained in episode 13 "The Parting of the Ways". Lucky that.
9. In episode "Bad Wolf", Rose, Captain Jack and The Doctor materialise on The Gamestation on malevolent versions of "popular" British TV shows; but which of these "icons" does not have their voice included in the episode?

Answer: Chris Tarrant

The droid equivalents of these "celebrities" were: Anne Droid on the Weakest Link, The Davina Droid on Big Brother, and Trine-E and Zu Zana on What Not To Wear.
10. Eccleston regenerates into David Tennant as the new Doctor Who in the final episode of this series, but what is the name given to the episode featuring Tennant's first adventure as the tenth Doctor?

Answer: The Christmas Invasion

The last original episode of Doctor Who for 2005. Good luck to David Tennant in the new series, I hope he uses his Scottish accent in this one. I doubt he will.
