After much searching, Christie was found ten days later at a hotel in Yorkshire apparently suffering from amnesia. Arthur Conan Doyle helped with the search by taking one of Christie's gloves to a medium. In the 'Doctor Who' story 'The Unicorn and the Wasp', Christie attends a garden party on the day she disappears. Her memory loss is the result of the destruction of an amulet. She fell unconscious and the Doctor dropped her off at the Yorkshire hotel where she was found ten days later (using his time machine).

That privilege goes to the Second Doctor, where in "The Dominators" he was seen eating some from a bag whilst waiting in a time capsule. He also offered the Brigadier one when in the TARDIS during "The Three Doctors", and later on during "The Five Doctors" he was seen producing a bag of them when he was cornered by a Yeti. Jelly Babies were seen, either being eaten or just in a bag, in thirteen different episodes during Tom Baker's era. Colin Baker mentioned them once in "The Two Doctors" and the Seventh Doctor was seen snacking on one shortly before his regeneration in the TV movie. David turned it down because he had already been in a starring role in another series, and had not liked the high publicity that came with it. Geoffrey Bayldon also turned down the role (as he did again when offered the job as the second Doctor after Hartnell's run). Despite beginning his acting career in 1925, his role as the first Doctor in "Doctor Who" is likely what he is best remembered for. His Doctor was noticeably younger than Hartnell's in both physicality and mentality. In later years, proceeding Doctors have gone on to cite him as one of their favourites.
