Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the beginning of the episode Wednesday is trying to communicate with her deceased ancestor, Goody Addams. How does she refer to this type of communication in her narration?

Answer: Seance

Wednesday is deep in meditation surrounded by dozens of lit candles while sitting on the floor of her room. Wednesday states that she feels odd holding a seance but she is desperate and feels that her deceased ancestor Goody Addams can further help her since they've communicated in her visions before. Before she connects with Goody, Enid interrupts Wednesday's seance and asks her if she would like to add scented candles to her seance.
2. Where does a letter passed under her door instruct Wednesday Addams to go that night at midnight?

Answer: Crackstone's Crypt

Enid jokes to Wednesday that maybe it was her deceased ancestor Goody Addams that had passed the note under the door. Wednesday responds that's unlikely since the words are made out of magazine clippings. The letter tells Wednesday to meet at Crackstone's Crypt at midnight. Believing that there may be clues to her investigation there, Wednesday of course adheres to the letter's instruction.
3. What type of setting does Wednesday find when she goes at midnight to the place she was instructed in a letter she received?

Answer: Surprise birthday party

Wednesday enters Crackstone's Crypt at midnight and finds that her classmates have thrown a surprise 16th birthday party for her. She learns that Thing and Enid were behind the planning for the surprise party in spite of telling them not to do anything special for it. Rather than celebrate her birthday, Wednesday decides to look for clues while she is in the crypt.
4. What words does Wednesday see burned into the grass at Nevermore Academy during the day as well as written in Latin while she is exploring around at midnight?

Answer: Fire will rain

At the end of episode five the words "fire will rain" are burning on the grass at Nevermore Academy. In episode six we see Wednesday staring at the burned remains of these words. At midnight while her friends throw her a party at Crackstone's Crypt, Wednesday finds a Latin phrase on the wall that translates to "fire will rain while I rise".

When she touches these etchings Wednesday has a vision where she speaks to Goody Addams who tells her to use her raven instincts and keep searching for truth.
5. What does Enid give to Wednesday as a gift that she would later use while they were being attacked by the monster?

Answer: Black snood

Enid gives Wednesday a black snood as a present for her 16th birthday. Wednesday doesn't quite understand what it is for so Enid explains that you wear it around your neck like a scarf. Wednesday declares that an appropriate situation to wear it would be a funeral. Enid also shows Wednesday that she had made herself a snood as well, one with more color of course.
6. In whose name does Mayor Walker receive a death certificate sent from London for?

Answer: Laurel Gates

Laurel Gates was the sister of Garrett Gates who had tragically died at the Nevermore Academy Rave'N in 1990. Their mother and father both died shortly after and Laurel moved from the USA to London. Laurel was thought to have drowned years prior while in London but both Mayor Walker and Wednesday believe she may still be alive. Mayor Walker does receive a death certificate in Laurel's name from London but he still wants to investigate further.
7. Wednesday and Xavier both see the same thing in their vision/dream. What is this thing that they would later encounter?

Answer: Gate from the old Gates Mansion

Knowing that Xavier knows the area better than her, Wednesday shows the drawing that she made of the gate she saw in her vision. Intrigued, Xavier shows Wednesday that he had also drawn the same gate recently as it appeared in his dream. Xavier explains that it is the gate to the old Gates Mansion and that he can still sense the monster in his dreams in spite of not seeing it.
8. While Nevermore Academy is under lockdown, Ms. Thornhill visits Wednesday and gives a book to her. What is this classic book that Wednesday refuses to accept as a gift?

Answer: Frankenstein

Ms. Thornhill asks Wednesday how she is doing and is told that she's frustrated about being checked in on and not having solved the mystery. Ms. Thornhill then gives the book "Frankenstein" to Wednesday hoping that it'll cheer her up. Wednesday acknowledges the greatness of the book and states that Mary Shelley is both her hero and her nemesis since she created a masterpiece at such a young age. Wednesday refuses to take the book and tells Ms. Thornhill that she gets enough pity from her mom and her therapist.
9. What does Wednesday find inside the garage at the old Gates Mansion that leads her to conclude that someone is using the home as a base for foul play?

Answer: The car that hit Mayor Walker

Earlier in the episode both Wednesday and Sheriff Galpin witnessed Mayor Walker being slammed into by a blue Cadillac when he was crossing the street to go to the Weathervane Cafe. The mayor was going to meet with the sheriff and tell him about new evidence he had discovered. Having known that the mayor visited the old Gates Mansion, Wednesday went there and found the same blue Cadillac that hit the mayor confirming her suspicions.
10. While in the old Gates Mansion, Wednesday and Enid confront the monster. How do they escape from the monster?

Answer: Dumbwaiter

Before confronting the monster, Wednesday and Enid find the bedroom of Laurel Gates and notice that it is being lived in by someone. Shortly after the monster pursues them but they are able to make it into a dumbwaiter and close the door. The dumbwaiter eventually crashes down to the basement from which they are able to flee.
