Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What somber word appears in each of the eight episode titles of the first season of "Wednesday"?

Answer: Woe

The eight episodes of season one of "Wednesday" were:
#1 - "Wednesday's Child Is Full of Woe"
#2 - "Woe Is the Loneliest Number"
#3 - "Friend or Woe"
#4 - "Woe What a Night"
#5 - "You Reap What You Woe"
#6 - "Quid Pro Woe"
#7 - "If You Don't Woe Me by Now"
#8 - "A Murder of Woes"

Some of these titles cleverly use woe to replace words from common phrases that rhyme with woe like foe, oh, sow, quo, know and crows.
2. What are the names of the parents of Wednesday Addams who send her off to Nevermore Academy in the first episode?

Answer: Gomez and Morticia

Gomez and Morticia Addams are the parents of Wednesday and her brother Pugsley. Wednesday is sent off to Nevermore Academy because she kept getting expelled at traditional high schools. Gomez and Morticia actually met at Nevermore Academy so Wednesday hates the idea of going to the same school that her parents met and fell in love.
3. What is the name of the town that is located near Nevermore Academy that Wednesday and her classmates frequently visit?

Answer: Jericho

Jericho is a small town and much of its funding is obtained from Nevermore Academy. However, there is a lot of tension between the 'normies' that live in Jericho and the 'outcasts' that attend Nevermore Academy. The vicious murders occurring in Jericho make the townsfolk believe that Nevermore Academy must be involved in some way.
4. Nevermore Academy has certain cliques of students based on their abilities. Which group are called stoners and are represented by students like Ajax Petropolus?

Answer: Gorgons

On her first day at Nevermore Academy, the roommate of Wednesday Addams, Enid Sinclair, explains that there are four groups at the school. These are the Fangs (vampires), Furs (werewolves), Scales (sirens) and Stoners (gorgons). Interestingly, Wednesday does not fit into any of these groups.

As a gorgon Ajax is able to turn people into stone if they look at his unwrapped head that has snakes on top but the only one that this ends up happening to is Ajax himself after the looks in the mirror.
5. In the second episode of "Wednesday" a fierce competition takes place. What is this event that involves rowing and foul play?

Answer: Poe Cup

The Poe Cup is a competition between the residence halls of Nevermore Academy in which teams have an Edgar Allan Poe inspired name. Wednesday's team is the Black Cats and they win the competition bringing the trophy back to Ophelia Hall for the first time in thirty years.

The competition encourages using brains, brawn and villainy to win so it's no surprise that Wednesday's team ends up victorious.
6. The monster (Hyde) ends up killing six people in the first season. Which victim is killed inside a building?

Answer: Dr. Kinbott

The Hyde is a monstrous transformation of Tyler Galpin that initially is brought out with the assistance of Ms. Thornhill (alias of Laurel Gates). The Hyde starts out based in a cave from which he has killed three people in the forest by the time Wednesday arrives at Nevermore Academy. Rather than being killed in the forest, Dr. Kinbott is slashed in her psychiatric office shortly after a heated conversation she has with Wednesday.
7. In what century did Goody Addams confront a Pilgrim named Joseph Crackstone who was responsible for the deaths of dozens of outcasts?

Answer: 1600s

"Wednesday" depicts Joseph Crackstone as one of the Pilgrims that settled in the 1620s in the northeast of what would become the United States. Shortly after Crackstone sought to rid the world of outcasts and he condemned Goody Addams to death. Crackstone burns a barn with dozens of outcasts chained to the floor and Goody is able to escape and eventually kill him. Wednesday Addams is a descendant of Goody Addams and she communicates with her several times in visions that she has throughout the first season.
8. What is shown as being the weapon that killed both Garrett Gates and the reanimated Joseph Crackstone?

Answer: Sword

Flashbacks depict the night of the Rave'n school dance in 1990 when Garrett Gates died. Garrett was in love with Morticia Frump (later Morticia Addams after marriage) but she was in love with Gomez Addams. Garrett ends up fighting Gomez and eventually is stabbed by a sword held by Morticia.

Dead for 400 years, Joseph Crackstone is reanimated by Ms. Thornhill. Crackstone tries to kill the students of Nevermore Academy but he is stabbed by Bianca Barclay and Wednesday Addams.
9. What does Ms. Thornhill (alias of Laurel Gates) use to both transform Tyler Galpin into the monster (Hyde) and give as gifts to Wednesday Addams?

Answer: Plants

Ms. Thornhill manages the conservatory at Nevermore Academy where she has access to plants that have powerful medicinal and toxic properties. She concocts a plant-based mixture that makes Tyler transform into the Hyde and eventually he will transform solely on her command. Ms. Thornhill's gifts to Wednesday Addams in the first season included both a black dahlia and white oleander which Wednesday appreciated due to their associations with toxicity and mystery.
10. Who does Wednesday Addams hug in the finale after previously calling this person annoyingly colorful?

Answer: Enid Sinclair

Enid Sinclair is Wednesday's roommate at Nevermore Academy and they are extremely different. Enid is a social media butterfly that loves color and conversation whereas Wednesday prefers black, avoids technology and only speaks when she needs to make a point.

The season finale has both Enid and Wednesday nearly get killed and seemingly to show relief and genuine friendship Wednesday gives Enid a big hug as the semester is ending. During a few earlier scenes in the season Enid had unsuccessfully tried to hug Wednesday.
