Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Right off the bat at the very first bonfire, there is a small group of enemies nearby with a surprisingly high drop rate on an otherwise hard to get resource. What do Archdrakes have a 10% chance of dropping on defeat?

Answer: Twinkling Titanite

Up to this point in the game, this resource has been extremely precious. Here, however, that changes entirely and it becomes quite easy to quickly accumulate a lot of Twinkling Titanite with some time spent farming these enemies. The 10% chance can be mitigated by rings or equipment, as well.
2. All that glitters maybe isn't gold here. Across the vast bodies of water the player will be passing by, they'll frequently see gold glistening above various parts of the surface. When approached, what happens with this gold?

Answer: An enemy attacks

Upon touching the gold, a Lizardman will attack the player. This can be used to the player's advantage however, as these Lizardmen will occasionally try and sneak up and ambush the player, and the gold glistening makes these efforts obvious if paid attention to.
3. As it happens, a boss soul for a completely different boss having nothing to do with Shrine of Amana can curiously be found here. Whose boss soul will be dropped here once that boss is defeated?

Answer: Vendrick

The Soul of a King will be found behind a door guarded by a Dragonrider on a very narrow bridge. The door itself cannot be opened until Vendrick is slain, but this is the only prerequisite. When Vendrick is defeated, the door will be found already having opened.
4. Not too far after the second bonfire, a mini boss can be found. Who is it? (Hint: the player has encountered this enemy as a boss twice by this point of the playthrough.)

Answer: Dragonrider

A Dragonrider will be standing atop a narrow bridge guarding the door containing a Soul of a King. Based on his position, the player will not have to fight him unless they go out of their way to either approach with melee or shoot him with something first.

As such, if struggling with the map, the player should probably just ignore him for now. When defeated, he drops a Twinkling Titanite.
5. If the player is really struggling with the game as a whole, but is able to make it as far as the second bonfire of this map, they'll be introduced to the Malfinito, who are capable of performing a life saving service. What can they do?

Answer: Reverse the player's Hollowing

If the player has completely run out of Human Effigies, be it on their person or in their storage chest, the Malfinito can reverse their Hollowing without needing a Human Effigy. If the player hollows thoroughly enough, they'll permanently lose half of their maximum HP, which is a steep penalty. As such, a desperate enough player can still use this service here as a last ditch effort.
6. As the player travels throughout the map, they'll constantly hear a distant singing sound. Who is responsible for this?

Answer: The Malfinito

The Malfinito are essentially deathbrides, aiming to provide comfort and respite in an undead's final moments before fully hollowing. Until directly approached and interacted with, the player will hear them sing. That is, unless the player decides to kill them.
7. The area here is a doozy, so a tanky NPC summon to provide aid could be just what the player needs. Wielding a Grand Lance and Tower Shield, whose summon sign is directly next to the third bonfire?

Answer: Felicia the Brave

Felicia has a tendency to get herself killed very quickly, as she is highly aggressive in an area with reduced movement, mages all over the place shooting at her, meshed with her seemingly undying urge to kill them at all costs. Of course, this makes her best suited for helping the player get through the area, not so much fight the area boss.
8. If you'd prefer an NPC with range at the expense of durability, this one is found just before the area boss room. Who is it?

Answer: Lone Hunter Schmidt

Lone Hunter Schmidt carries a Sniper Crossbow with seemingly unlimited ammunition. The player must be careful guiding him to the boss door, however, as if they teeter too closely to the edge of the lake while traveling, he may fall off the edge to his immediate death.
9. The boss of this area is a gimmick- the player must wait until it exposes its face, the only part of its body prone to damage, that it will often hide behind an impregnable shell of sorts. Who is this terrifying skull shoved into the carcass of a frog?

Answer: Demon of Song

This is possibly the most straightforward, monotonous boss in the game. It goes like this: the boss is invincible until it opens the frog corpse and reveals its face. Here, it will throw out a basic two hit combo, a grab attack, dash attack or a jumping body slam. If dodged, the player will have a fair bit of time to attack a few times or so until the creature submerges itself within its surprisingly rock hard shell. And that's it, rinse/repeat this until the boss is dead.
10. This area's boss soul can be converted into the Spotted Whip, a very interesting status inducing whip. What status does it afflict its victims with?

Answer: Poison

With the most optimal equipment possible, the Spotted Whip's poison build up can max out at an absurd 287, causing it to pretty much instantly poison targets after two or three hits at the most. Even without such min/maxing, it's high range, decently fast moveset and well above average poison build up still makes it excellent at applying this status.
