Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which gang did Shepard and Aria T'Loak work with in the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Talons

The Eclipse, Blue Suns, and Blood Pack were the three mercenary factions from "Mass Effect 2". Shepard fought all three at once on Omega when rescuing Garrus, killing each local leader. After "Mass Effect 2", the Talons rose to fill the power vacuum.

The Talons were not seen in a "Mass Effect" game until this DLC, but they were first introduced in the novel "Mass Effect: Ascension", which was published in 2008, before even "Mass Effect 2" was released.
2. Nyreen Kandros was the first instance of what seen in a "Mass Effect" game?

Answer: Female turian

In the first game, apart from humans, each species was represented by only one gender. This was partially due to development resources, and partially because the art team did not know the best way to distinguish them.

In "Mass Effect 2", male quarians were introduced, and in "Mass Effect 3", female salarians and krogan were first seen. It was not until the "Omega" DLC that a female turian was seen (in a video game). Female turians were seen in the "Mass Effect: Evolution" comic, released in 2011.
3. Oleg Petrovsky, a Cerberus master tactician, was the main antagonist for the "Omega" DLC. Which game was he seen playing in his office?

Answer: Chess

During cutscenes, Petrovsky would move pieces around. The set in his office was not complete, so some pieces were replaced with holograms. After the mission, Aria gave the chess board to Shepard, who then kept it in the captain's cabin as a memento.
4. What new Cerberus enemy did Shepard fight in the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Rampart Mechs

Cerberus had set up shields that would fry organic matter; the Rampart Mechs could walk through the shields. They wielded shotguns and would emit damaging electricity from their bodies after being destroyed, becoming hazards on the battlefield.

The mechs never appeared in the multiplayer component of "Mass Effect 3", but around the same time the Dragoons were added to multiplayer in the "Retaliation" DLC (October 10, 2012). The Dragoons were Cerberus troopers that used biotic lashes just like the multiplayer classes Phoenix Vanguard and Phoenix Adept, which were introduced in the "Rebellion Pack" (May 29, 2012).
5. What creatures, introduced in the "Mass Effect: Invasion" comic, were found crawling around in the eezo mines in the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Adjutants

Adjutants were beings made from Reaper tech that could infect other organics to turn them into more adjutants. They were like regular husk enemies, but did not need Dragon's Teeth to transform their victims.

They were first seen in the comic "Mass Effect: Invasion", where Cerberus was experimenting on them in a lab when they managed to escape. Cerberus enlisted Aria T'Loak to help contain them, but it turned out that the escape was a ruse to get Aria away from Omega so Cerberus could take control. Cerberus, with more experimentation, was able to control the adjutants. Oleg Petrovsky used them as bodyguards during the final fight.
6. Which player class had a unique interrupt during the battle at the reactor in the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Engineer

Petrovsky: "Rerouting the power to maintain the other systems. It's commendable... but it might take a while."

Shepard: "Maybe if I was a stupid grunt."

This was the first instance of a class-specific interrupt/dialogue option in a "Mass Effect" game. Shepard needed to disable the shields by either dangerously shutting down the reactor immediately (which was also connected to life support for a lot of the station), or by taking more time to reroute power away from just the shields... Unless Shepard was an engineer, in which case the power could be rerouted immediately.

The only difference was a shortened cutscene and some minor dialog changes after reuniting with Aria and Nyreen.
7. Where was Oleg Petrovsky's command centre, and the final fight of the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: The Afterlife club

Aria's seat of power in "Mass Effect 2" was Afterlife, a loud club with multiple floors, bars, and dancers. It was also in the centre of Omega, making it a great location for a command centre.

On the way to Afterlife, Shepard and Aria passed through Mordin Solus' old clinic from "Mass Effect 2". Garrus' old apartment/hideout was not revisited.
8. Which of Shepard's two squadmates died during the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Nyreen Kandros

Nyreen Kandros was committed to saving the people of Omega. When she saw six adjutants on the loose, ready to start slaughtering civilians, she trapped them in a biotic bubble with herself and a belt of grenades.

Aria had philosophical differences with Nyreen, but also an affectionate history. Nyreen's death sent Aria into an even bigger rage, which ultimately made her run blindly into Petrovsky's trap.
9. What did Oleg Petrovsky do when beaten?

Answer: Surrendered to Shepard

Petrovsky was a smart man who knew when he was beaten. When his personal guard was defeated, he ordered all Cerberus forces to stand down, and then surrendered to Shepard. Aria roughed him up a bit, but did not kill him for all the trouble he had caused her.

He was given to Shepard to be turned over to the Alliance for intelligence on Cerberus (unless Shepard chose to execute him right there).
10. What did the elcor merchant Harrot want Shepard to find for him to curry Aria's favour in the "Omega" DLC?

Answer: Aria's couch

When Petrovsky turned Aria's platform in Afterlife into his command centre, he removed the furniture, including the couch that Aria treated like a throne. Shepard could find the couch in the water and report it to Harrot, the sleazy elcor merchant from "Mass Effect 2".
