Question 2 of 10
2. Like Miror B, Dakim in his first encounter was given some quirky AI, but not for the entire fight; just for the very first turn. Dakim will always, no matter what the player does, start the fight off with Golem as one of his two Pokemon. What move will Dakim always have Golem use on turn one? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Venus' AI is also quirky, but in a less blatantly noticeable way. What does the player have to do in order to trigger Venus to act in a very specific way? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Like Venus, Ein must essentially be forced to act in a very particular way. Ein will tend to inflict the player's team with status, but what must the player do to prompt Ein to do so? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Each Cipher Admin, at least the first time they're fought, has one Shadow Pokemon. What Shadow Pokemon does Miror B have? Hint

Question 6 of 10

Question 7 of 10
7. Venus' Shadow Pokemon is a very tanky Water type, and will likely prove challenging to catch. What is it? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Ein's Shadow Pokemon is a very well rounded Electric type, presenting problems both offensively and defensively. What is Ein's Shadow Pokemon? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Each Cipher Admin has one Pokemon who will never leave their team regardless of when the admin is encountered. Dakim's been on a long journey with his Pokemon of choice, as evidenced by its evolution pattern. What is Dakim's sole permanent Pokemon? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Venus has one Pokemon she must hold near and dear, because it is the only one that never leaves her team. An evolved form of an all-time classic, what is Venus' permanent Pokemon? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Most boss fights in this game were given very standard "smart AI". However, Miror B is not one such boss. Miror B was given exclusive AI, where he will aggressively force this move at all costs to establish his preferred weather. What move will Miror B prioritize having his Pokemon use?

Answer: Rain Dance

Miror B, in his first fight, has four Ludicolos. Each of them has an ability which benefits from the weather being rainy, either Swift Swim or Rain Dish. If a round ever ends and the weather is not rainy, Miror B will have his Ludicolo set up Rain Dance as a top priority over anything else.
2. Like Miror B, Dakim in his first encounter was given some quirky AI, but not for the entire fight; just for the very first turn. Dakim will always, no matter what the player does, start the fight off with Golem as one of his two Pokemon. What move will Dakim always have Golem use on turn one?

Answer: Protect

The reason for this is that the rest of Dakim's team knows Earthquake, and he will want to keep the Ground-weak Golem safe from friendly fire. However, an experienced player who can exploit this tendency in Dakim's AI can simply double target Golem's partner and ideally eliminate it before it can move.

Worth noting is that Golem will always be one of the first two Pokemon Dakim sends out. The partner can be anything other than Shadow Entei, but no matter what, Golem is always one of the first two.
3. Venus' AI is also quirky, but in a less blatantly noticeable way. What does the player have to do in order to trigger Venus to act in a very specific way?

Answer: Send out an opposite gendered Pokemon

Where Miror B's team was built around weather and Dakim's for spread moves, Venus' team is centered around moves which will disrupt or interrupt the player's team. If the player sends out a male Pokemon while Venus has a female Pokemon on the field or vice versa, she will prioritize having her Pokemon use Attract.

In addition to infatuation, Venus' team is well armed to inflict paralysis, confusion and flinching to deprive the player of as many turns as possible.
4. Like Venus, Ein must essentially be forced to act in a very particular way. Ein will tend to inflict the player's team with status, but what must the player do to prompt Ein to do so?

Answer: Put bulky Pokemon on the field

When a fight in this game has "Smart AI", it means that if the opponent has a move which can KO the player's Pokemon, they will consistently use it. Ein works in this manner; however, he is slightly different in that if he cannot KO any of the player's Pokemon, he will default to inflicting them with a damaging status move, typically Toxic or Confuse Ray.

As such, a clever player could exploit this tendency in Ein's AI by filling their team with tanky Pokemon, stocking up on Full Heals, and slowly whittling away at Ein's team while he essentially is unable to directly fight back.
5. Each Cipher Admin, at least the first time they're fought, has one Shadow Pokemon. What Shadow Pokemon does Miror B have?

Answer: Sudowoodo

Sudowoodo can be caught from Miror B at level 35. When first found, Sudowoodo is the highest level Shadow Pokemon the player will have found up to that point in the game.

If the player fails to catch Sudowoodo, it will remain on Miror B's team and it will stay level 35, even in subsequent fights where the rest of Miror B's team significantly outlevels it. The player can attempt to catch it again and again, as Miror B will eventually turn into a permanent, consistent rematched boss fight at the end of the game in the Deep Colosseum.
6. Dakim's Shadow Pokemon can inflict some massive Fire damage, both onto the player and when used by them. What is Dakim's Shadow Pokemon?

Answer: Entei

Entei can be caught at level 40. During the player's fight with Dakim, Entei will know Fire Blast. In particular, during the first encounter with Dakim, Entei's Fire Blasts will quickly overwhelm the player if they cannot defeat or catch Entei promptly. Entei's Fire Blasts are so strong that they're likely to at least two-shot even things which resist them.
7. Venus' Shadow Pokemon is a very tanky Water type, and will likely prove challenging to catch. What is it?

Answer: Suicune

Suicune can be caught at level 40. By this point of the game, there hasn't been a particularly powerful Grass type available to the player, and only Ampharos could've been acquired as a strong Electric type. It is entirely possible the player finds themselves without a way to deal quick, strong damage to Suicune. Suicune comes to the initial encounter with Surf as one of its moves, meaning it can pepper the player with consistent spread damage, making it even harder to snag.

Curiously, if the player fails to snag Suicune until they encounter Venus at the Deep Colosseum, it will have Hydro Pump instead of Surf. This is the only Shadow Pokemon in the game which can have a differentiating moveset depending on when it is encountered.
8. Ein's Shadow Pokemon is a very well rounded Electric type, presenting problems both offensively and defensively. What is Ein's Shadow Pokemon?

Answer: Raikou

Raikou is very fast, very threatening offensively and, being only weak to Ground with decent defenses, it can capably take a hit or two. Like Dakim's Entei, Raikou comes with Thunder and can quickly threaten powerful damage against the player. It also has Quick Attack, and can use priority to finish off any low HP Pokemon the player has.
9. Each Cipher Admin has one Pokemon who will never leave their team regardless of when the admin is encountered. Dakim's been on a long journey with his Pokemon of choice, as evidenced by its evolution pattern. What is Dakim's sole permanent Pokemon?

Answer: Marshtomp/Swampert

During the first encounter with Dakim, he will use Marshtomp. During subsequent encounters, it will have evolved into Swampert. Regardless, it's role is often very simply to spam Earthquake or Muddy Water depending on which would be more appropriate to use.
10. Venus has one Pokemon she must hold near and dear, because it is the only one that never leaves her team. An evolved form of an all-time classic, what is Venus' permanent Pokemon?

Answer: Raichu

Raichu fits Venus' team quite well as it can learn Thunder Wave and Attract to capably interrupt any male Pokemon the player has which is not immune to Electric.
