Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The player is incentivized to use attacks the enemy is weak to by the "Add One" system. What happens if the player hits an enemy's weakness?

Answer: They only spend half a turn

Compared to the "Persona" series, it's quite similar but different. Instead of the user getting a second move, their turn essentially costs half of what it usually would. This can, with clever play, allow the user to receive a second turn that round if the player does not use an attack that misses or is blocked.
2. If the player is informed by the game that "you sense a terrifying demon", what type of enemy are they about to fight?

Answer: Fiend

There are ten Fiends in the game. Defeating a Fiend causes them to drop a particular Menorah, needed to progress through the Amala Network. Some Fiends, such as Matador and Hell Biker, are mandatory bosses. However, some Fiends such as Daisoujou can be missed, so the player needs to do some headhunting to get all ten of them.
3. The Kagatsuchi has a good amount of influence on enemies. If it is a new Kagatsuchi, which of the following is true?

Answer: Enemies cannot be recruited

Enemies under a new Kagatsuchi are much more feral and aggressive. This also impacts their stats, as they will both deal and receive more damage from all sources. They cannot be negotiated with in anyway, such as being recruited.
4. While exploiting weaknesses is important, the player will find avoiding triggering a "Block" is equally important. If the player's attack is nullified by an immunity, what happens?

Answer: The turn costs twice as much

This will also cancel out any advantage gained should the attack have simultaneously hit a different enemy for their weakness. As such, even if it would hit an enemy for their weakness, using an attack that a different enemy is immune to is usually not worth it.
5. There is a radar on the bottom right corner of the screen indicating how close the player is to a random encounter. If the radar is colored blue, what does it mean?

Answer: The player is in a safe area

If the radar is colored blue, the player cannot enter a combat encounter. It does take the radar a moment to update, however, so the player could find themselves taking several steps outside of a safe area before the radar changes off of being blue.
6. Hama and Mudo are well known for being lethal in the "Persona" series. Here, however, these instakill powers suffer from extreme inconsistency issues. Without factoring weaknesses, what is the success rate of Hama and Mudo?

Answer: 20%

If the target is weak to Light or Dark respectively, the 20% becomes a still low 30%. Hamaon and Mudoon, the best instakill powers in the game, top out at 60% if th target is weak to them. This game was not kind to instakill powers, sadly.
7. Buff and debuff powers work very differently here compared to the "Persona" series. They can be used more than once. What else is true?

Answer: They last infinitely

In the "Persona" series, buffs and debuffs last for three turns. Only in "Persona 5" can this three turns be extended somehow. In "hin Megami Tensei", however, the duration on buffs and debuffs has always been infinite.
8. Who is the first mandatory boss of the game?

Answer: Forneus

Forneus is weak to Electric, which the player's partnered Pixie can easily exploit using Zio. He is immune to Ice, but since the player cannot acquire any way to deal Ice damage by this point in the game anyway, this is meaningless.
9. Matador is infamously known as this game's "noob stomper"- a notorious difficulty spike that can be quite brutal towards newcomers of the game. This is because of his signature skills- Red Capote and Andalucia. What does Red Capote do?

Answer: Maxes his Hit Rate/Evasion

Missing attacks in this game is extremely punishing, so Matador's ability to max his Evasion rate instantly can prove overwhelming to players who don't know how to deal with enemies buffing themselves. This is the first enemy to present such a problem, which is the biggest reason Matador is seen as the first roadblock of a new player's experience.

Andalucia, Matador's other signature move, can certainly threaten the player's team just as much, if not more sometimes, as Red Capote. Andalucia dishes out a lot of Physical damage to the player's entire team t once, which can overwhelm players who do not have good ways to keep their team healthy all at once, such as having a Media user.
10. If the player should find themselves defeated in combat, what happens?

Answer: They get returned to the main menu

Players are highly advised to save their games frequently. If the player goes a few hours without saving, then suffers a defeat, they lose those hours of progress completely as they get sent back to the main menu. Save often!
