Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Sheikah Slate is the first item that comes into Link's possession when he awakens. Where does he find it?

Answer: The Shrine of Resurrection

Within the very first space that Link finds himself, he'll locate a pedestal and a waiting Sheikah Slate, a device that he'll need in order to fight back against Calamity Ganon and save Hyrule once and for all. By the time Link leaves the shrine and emerges into the cliffs overlooking Central Hyrule, he'll have his first outfit and the device ready to be loaded up, and that'll take a little bit of extra work.
2. Link can use the Sheikah Slate to reveal a map of Hyrule, but how does he populate that map?

Answer: By climbing towers around Hyrule

Hyrule is a massive land, and across it you'll find fifteen regions of varying climates and sizes. The Sheikah Slate is your friend in this regard since you'll have a lot of getting around to do and quests to track. To fill out that map, however, you'll need to complete some objectives, ascending massive towers scattered across the land to use the Guidance Stone at the top. If you manage to do that, you can also use those towers as waymarkers to warp to, just as you can with Shrines.
3. Using your Sheikah Slate can allow you to better locate details in the world around you. Not only can you use it as a scope, but you can use it to place which of these?

Answer: Pins

This is a particularly useful feature if you're hanging out at the top of one of the Sheikah towers since, from the top, you should be able to see numerous objectives of varying degrees in any given direction. By using the Slate as a scope, you can zoom at will and then press a button to place a coloured pin on your map. With Hyrule being as large as it is, this could be a major boon in helping you navigate!
4. Using the Camera Rune, Link can update which of these?

Answer: Compendium

"Breath of the Wild" is a game of collectables, and one of the many ways of going about this is by filling up the Compendium, a thorough guide of all enemies, items, consumables, weapons, and armor in Hyrule. None of these will automatically be in the Compendium to start, so even the basics are fair game. Fortunately, once you add them to your Compendium (by taking photos of them), you'll have an easier time locating them around the map. You can unlock all of these at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.
5. Link's Sheikah Slate comes with a small package of how many photos pre-loaded?

Answer: Twelve

Although just searching for all 385 images for the Compendium might be to some peoples' liking as amateur Hyrule photographers, you'll get twelve photos pre-loaded to the Sheikah Slate by chance, and each of them will contribute to a better understanding of the circumstances that befell Princess Zelda and her guardians before Calamity Ganon struck. Link can locate all twelve locations around Hyrule by following the images and hints provided by painters outside each one of the map's stables. After experiencing all twelve Captured Memories, Impa will provide you with a thirteenth.
6. In addition to a general Remote Bomb rune, Link's Sheikah Slate can also create bombs of what shape?

Answer: Cube

If Link makes his way to the eastern shrine on the Great Plateau, Ja Baij Shrine, he'll obtain two Runes for his Sheikah Slate-- one which creates basic, spherical Remote Bombs, and one that creates Square Remote Bombs. In both cases, Link can set or throw the bomb, then remote detonate them to best effect, a welcome change from earlier "Legend of Zelda" games where bombs were consumable and limited.
7. Which of these is not one of the Sheikah Slate Runes?

Answer: Electrolysis

All of the Shrines found on the centrally-located Great Plateau region of Hyrule are important for Link's Sheikah Slate, and it's coincidental that you need to visit all four to eventually obtain the paraglider. Link can visited Ke Namut Shrine for Cryonis, Oman Au Shrine for Magnesis, and Owa Daim Shrine for Stasis, and each of these will be an integral part of his toolkit for the entire game. Stasis is the only one of these that can be upgraded down the line, allowing you to freeze movable objects in place.
8. Who, of these people, can upgrade the Runes on your Sheikah Sensor?

Answer: Purah

Found at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, Purah is an unexpected resource for all things Slate-related, and a handful of her quests can be pursued should you be able to relight her forge with a sacred, blue flame. By providing her with three Ancient materials of different types, you can upgrade the Sheikah Sensor, your Remote Bombs, and Stasis, making each of them slightly more useful than they already would have been.
9. While in Divine Beasts, Link can use his Sheikah Slate to activate a Guidance Stone. What will this show him?

Answer: The location of Markers

As soon as Link arrives on a Divine Beast, its associated Champion will direct him to the Guidance Stone, a device that will allow Link to access a map of the dungeon and point him to the Terminal units found therein. This is especially important since these Terminals must be accessed to fight the Ganon boss blighting the Divine Beast and help him finish his quest. Similar Guidance Stones can be found atop the fifteen towers scattered across Hyrule.
10. The Master Cycle Zero Rune can be obtained through a quest in which "Breath of the Wild" DLC?

Answer: The Champions' Ballad

Part of the quest 'EX The Champions' Ballad', Master Cycle Zero can only be obtained from the DLC titled "The Champions' Ballad" if you've defeated Ganon and completed the main quest of the game. When Monk Maz Koshia is defeated he'll be the one to reward Link with the Rune, allowing Link to summon a cycle that he can ride around Hyrule like he would a horse. For all intents, the game treats this as a fifth Divine Beast.
