"Breath of the Wild" - The Road to Vah Ruta Quiz

Answer: Inogo Bridge

If you head east from the Lanayru Tower you'll find Inogo Bridge straddling a raging river below, and it's here that Sidon will beckon you over and chat. The Zora Prince, Sidon will point you along the marked route beyond with the aim to have you reach Zora's Domain, a destination far along the road at the end of an enemy-laden trail.

His aim is simple; he needs help quelling the torrential rains that plague his home, brought on by the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. He's just lucky he's speaking to someone who can actually accomplish the task.

Answer: Muzu

When you finally reach Zora's Domain you'll end up finding your way to the throne room where Sidon will vouch for your abilities and King Dorephan, realizing that Link is the hero of the past, will task him with stopping Divine Beast Vah Ruta from destroying the region.

It is most unfortunate that his daughter, Princess Mipha, not only fought alongside Link at one point, but fell to the darkness inside this fearsome creature. Mipha's teacher, Muzu, also remembers Link and intends not to aid him, believing him not to have the Zoras' best interests at heart.

He'll stomp off, leaving King Dorephan to set a task to Link on his own.

Answer: Swim up waterfalls

One gift that will be bestowed upon Link when he's tasked with helping the Zoras is the Zora Armor, a set of clothes that Princess Mipha created to fit her perfect hero. Fortunately, since Link is that chosen hero, the tunic will fit him snugly, and it's wearing this that will allow Muzu to recognize Link is the real deal.

The tunic can be used almost immediately, allowing Link to ascend the waterfalls surrounding Zora's Domain to start collecting necessary items to advance closer to Vah Ruta.

Answer: Shock Arrows

Before Link can meet back up with Sidon near the reservoir containing Divine Beast Vah Ruta, he'll have to head to the top of Ploymus Mountain where a creature by the name of Lynel, known for crafting and shooting Shock Arrows, makes his home. Though Muzu was originally tasked with grabbing twenty arrows, the task will fall to Link since he'll be the one responsible for gaining access to the inner chambers of the creature. With that, you can head up to the summit near Shatterback Point and grab them. Fortunately, you can do so without engaging in battle; several can be found nocked into tree trunks heading up to the summit.

Answer: Ice blocks

If Link can collect twenty Shock Arrows, he should have enough to be able to meet Sidon at the reservoir, hop onto his back, and swim around the waters in an effort to gain access to Vah Ruta. The way in is tricky, however, since Link has to remove the ice block (and ice spike) defences being hurtled at him, then let Sidon get close enough to the Divine Beast for Link to swim up the waterfalls cascading down its sides. If Link can swim up, he'll launch into the air, the perfect vantage point to fire Shock Arrows at the three power units on the beast's back. Once all three are shot, Sidon will depart and Link can head into the dungeon solo.

Answer: Four

Once Link enters Divine Beast Vah Ruta it should be very apparent that the Blight has infested its way through the machinery of the dungeon, giving it a nefarious atmosphere and wreaking havoc on the surrounding area. To make things right he needs to use the Sheikah Slate to navigate through its chambers and locate four terminals, each of which will glow on Link's map.

Some of these will require the use of specific runes to access. If all four are turned off, Link can return to the chamber near the entrance to battle the boss.

Answer: Nose

Once Link has gotten comfortable navigating the inner chambers of Vah Ruta he'll be able to pass through its later rooms by leveraging its unique construction. Since Vah Ruta's form is similar to an elephant and its main element appears to be water, Link can maneuver the creature's nose to shoot water in different directions, ultimately allowing him to both traverse a significant part of the dungeon's outer passages and unlock terminals that would otherwise be inaccessible.

This is a required action in the dungeon, otherwise he won't make it to the boss.

Answer: Waterblight Ganon

Once all of the terminals have been activated Link can go head-to-head against the spirit of Ganon residing inside Vah Ruta-- Waterblight Ganon. In the first segment of this battle, Link has to keep hitting the boss with as much as he can, aiming for the face to bring it to its knees. Once this stage of the fight is done, the water level in the room will rise, creating four square platforms for Link to operate from.

While Waterblight Ganon tosses ice blocks from afar, Link will need to do more of the same, bringing down the creature in convenient spots to continue the hits. Two health bars later, the boss will go down and leave a Heart Container behind.

Answer: His health

With Divine Beast Vah Ruta cleared of all blight, the spirit of Princess Mipha will appear before Link and provide him with aid, removing the beast from the reservoir and positioning it in the hills to use its power against the protective forcefield around Hyrule Castle.

In addition, Link will be bestowed the gift of Mipha's Grace, a blue orb that protects him in the event he runs out of health (by refilling his health). Once used, it can regain its power after twenty-four minutes (unless upgraded or in Hyrule Castle).

Answer: Lightscale Trident

Returning to the throne room of Zora's Domain, Link will wrap up this part of the main plot, putting it to a close as the Zoras thank the hero for his work saving their home, mourn the loss of Mipha, and reward Link with the Lightscale Trident, a powerful weapon originally made for Mipha. If this weapon happens to break, Link can bring it back to Dento, the weaponsmith, in Zora's Domain to repair with a Zora Spear, one Diamond, and five Flint. All of those items can be found from in Zora's Domain, even if Link has to work for them.
