Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In North America, this game (which also featured Sudoku puzzles) was released under the Touch! Generations name before the brand was released on the continent. What is the name of this bestseller?

Answer: Brain Age

Selling over ten million copies worldwide, "Brain Age: Train Your Brain In Minutes A Day" became one of the bestselling titles ever released on the DS after its 2006 release. Shortly after, the Touch! Generation brand-name launched in June of the same year with the similarly-popular "Big Brain Academy". Both games make use of lateral thinking puzzles, tests, and mind games in order to expand your brain and make your mind more active. "Brain Age" was followed by "Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day!" a year later.

This sold quite well like the original and both were modestly well-received.
2. "Nintendogs" was released in many different iterations in 2005 and 2006. Which of these is not one of them?

Answer: German Shepherd & Friends

Also released after these were the "Best Friends" and "Dalmatian & Friends" versions. Receiving awards upon its unveiling and release, "Nintendogs" went on to be one of the best-selling games on the handheld for a time. Each game has a number of dogs to select, raise, and train, and players can go about all these tasks with the options given, the stylus, and the microphone in the handheld unit. Like many of the system's popular games, this one was developed and published in-house by Nintendo.
3. In this game, you take orders from Commander Kahn and tap 'hit markers' with your stylus. What is the game's title?

Answer: Elite Beat Agents

A spiritual sequel to the Japanese game "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan", "Elite Beat Agents" was a rhythm game with a great style to it. You play as an agent who sets out to help people in need. By the end of the game, you're stuck fending off horrible aliens with the power of beat and song. To play, you use the stylus to tap or drag numbers at the bottom of the screen to the beat of the song. The difficulty ramps up with later songs and stages, but the beat rolls on. AGENTS ARE GO!
"Elite Beat Agents" was released in 2006 to extremely modest reviews.
4. "Flash Focus" was released to give training in which of these aspects?

Answer: Vision

The full name of this 2007 game was "Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day". Essentially, the games packaged with this Touch! Generations title were meant to test reaction speed and promote eye relaxation through training modules, much like "Brain Age" and "Big Brain Academy". Critics didn't care for this.

This game received one of the lower cumulative review scores in the Touch! generation series and never really lived up to the expectations of a Nintendo title. It never really was developed by Nintendo though...it was made by Namco Bandai, a company much more popular on handheld systems (like the DS) with installations in their "Tamagotchi" and "Digimon" series.
5. Kyle Hyde is the protagonist of what 2007 game later released under the Touch! Generation name?

Answer: Hotel Dusk: Room 215

Although not originally a Touch! Generation game, it was repackaged as such a year after its 2007 release. "Hotel Dusk: Room 215" follows a hard-boiled detective, Kyle Hyde, in a film noir setting as a mystery needs to be solved in a gloomy hotel. Using an art style and technique uncharacteristic of normal handheld games, "Hotel Dusk" surprised players and critics alike becoming a notable casual title which plays more like a thriller novel than a game.

It's a point-and-click adventure game. It was developed by Cing, also known for the Wii game "Little King's Story" (released in 2009).
6. What "Mystery Case Files" game released in 2008 by Big Fish Games appeared under the Touch! Generations name on the DS?

Answer: MillionHeir

A popular search-and-find title in the "Mystery Case Files" casual game series, "MillionHeir" brings to puzzle aspect of the original PC games (ie. "Ravenhearst", "Huntsville", etc.) to the Nintendo DS where players can circle items on the touchscreen or solve puzzles with precision.

The aim of the game is to determine the murderer of Phil T. Rich, and to do so you'll need to go through the suspects' respective environments and pick out clues to uncover the truth. Big Fish Games, known for their online gaming community, developed the title for the handheld.
7. What Touch! Generations game (the first on the Wii) was released with a number of Wii consoles in 2006 and the years after its launch?

Answer: Wii Sports

After its bundling with the Nintendo Wii in 2006, "Wii Sports" became one of Nintendo's most popular titles as it had been purchased by all Wii owners after the console's launch. Over fifty million copies of this title, later one of the first Touch! Generations Wii games to be named, have been sold worldwide, outselling even "Super Mario Bros.". "Wii Sports" consists of five sporting events: Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Boxing, and Baseball, and it makes use of the Wii's motion-sensitive controllers in each one.

In 2009, a sequel, "Wii Sports Resort", was released with the Wii Motion Plus unit. This game was also deemed part of the Touch! Generations line.
8. The "Wii Degree" of what DS (Touch!) game was remade for release on the Nintendo Wii in 2007?

Answer: Big Brain Academy

"Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree" was one the earliest title launched under the Touch! Generations name on the Wii (even before Nintendo took "Wii Sports" under that umbrella). Taking many of the expected puzzles and mind games from the DS version of "Big Brain Academy" and adding in a number of motion-sensitivity games for good measure, "Wii Degree" included training exercises for Identification, Memory, Analysis, Computing of Math, and Visual Challenges.

In addition, the game featured a multiplayer mode in which players could beat each other to see whose mind is the 'best', so to speak.
9. In 2008, North American players were graced with the presence of which Arika-developed Touch! Generations game about scuba diving?

Answer: Endless Ocean

Known for developing the "Street Fighter EX" series and a number of "Tetris" games, Arika took on the development of Nintendo's casual Wii scuba game, "Endless Ocean" and provided players with a realistic experience in which the player assumes the role of a diver. Players can interact with sea creatures, search through reefs and sunken wreckage, and collect fish.

A sequel, "Endless Ocean: Blue World", was released in 2010. This was the first Wii game to be released under the Touch! Generations name which wasn't developed by Nintendo in-house.
10. What Touch! Generations game released in 2008 featured Yoga, Aerobics, Strength Training, and Balance Games in its repertoire?

Answer: Wii Fit

"Wii Fit" was the first game to be released on the Wii with the Balance Board peripheral and it began a trend of Wii fitness games from other developers (such as EA). Selling over twenty million units after its first year, it became one of the highest-selling non-bundled games ever released across all consoles.

In 2009, "Wii Fit Plus" was released with additional fitness activities (unbundled). Other games since this important title's release have used the balance board in many ways, whether for snowboarding or to navigate marbles across intricate tracks.
