Answer: Wilmington, NC - Barstow, CA

I40 is over 2,500 miles long and is the nation's third longest interstate. It goes through Nashville, Memphis, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque and just south of the Grand Canyon. Part of I40 near Wilmington, NC is named Michael Jordon Freeway. Jordon was born and raised there.
2. I75

Answer: Sault Ste.-Marie, MI - Miami Lakes, FL

I75 is almost 1,800 miles long and is the second longest north-south interstate. It passes through Detroit, Cincinnati, Lexington, Atlanta and Tampa. Sault Ste. Marie is located on the Canadian border in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
3. I35

Answer: Duluth, MN - Laredo, TX

I35 is over 1,500 miles long, with over 500 miles in Texas alone. I35 travels through Minneapolis/St. Paul, Des Moines, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Fort Worth and San Antonio.
4. I10

Answer: Santa Monica, CA - Jacksonville, FL

I10 is over 2,400 miles long, making it the fourth longest interstate. I10 travels through Los Angles, Tucson, El Paso, San Antonio, Houston, Mobile and Tallahassee.
5. I80

Answer: New York, NY - San Francisco, CA

I80 is just over 2,900 miles long, making it the second-longest interstate. I80 follows the first transcontinental route, the Lincoln Highway and the Oregon Trail. I80 runs through Reno, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Des Moines, and Cleveland.
6. I94

Answer: Lockwood, MT - Port Huron, MI

I94 is over 1,500 miles long. It is the northernmost east-west interstate making it the interstate with the most snow. In Jamestown, ND one can see the world's largest buffalo and the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora, ND. I94 also passes through Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit.
7. I90

Answer: Boston, MA - Seattle, WA

I90 is just over 3,000 miles long, making it the longest interstate. Montana has the longest stretch at over 500 miles. I90 goes through Albany, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, Madison, Sioux Falls, Billings, just north of Yellowstone National Park and Spokane.

While traveling through Wisconsin be sure to visit Wisconsin Dells (more waterslides per capita than anywhere) and Witches Gulch. In Minnesota see the Jolly Green Giant statue and in South Dakota the Corn Palace in Mitchell, and Mt. Rushmore.

In Wyoming, Devil's Tower National Monument and in Montana the Battle of Little Bighorn National Monument. In Idaho stop at Couer D'Alene and Snoqualmie Falls in Washington.

Answer: Tampa, FL - Daytona Beach, FL

I4 is only 132 miles long, all in Florida. I4 is also known as the most haunted highway in America, especially in the quarter-mile Dead Zone. There have been many strange occurrences. One is that cell phones, radios, and CBs stop working, others have claimed to have heard static or the sound of children laughing.

They have also heard voices. Some people have even claimed to have heard the sounds of snarling or growling coming from their radios.
9. I97

Answer: Annapolis, MD - Glen Burnie, MD

I97 is less than 18 miles long and lies entirely within one county in Maryland. It is said to be the shortest 2-digit interstate in the lower 48 states.
10. I20

Answer: Florence, SC to Scroggins Draw, TX

I20 runs for over 1,500 miles through the south, It passes through Abilene, Ft, Worth, Shreveport, Jackson, Birmingham, Atlanta and Columbus. Scroggins Draw isn't even a town, it's a valley where I20 meets up with I10. In Abilene, why not stop to see the world's biggest buffalo skull? It weighs 2 tons!
11. I15

Answer: San Diego, CA - Sweetgrass, MT

I15 runs over 1,400 miles and is a major north-south route in the west. It passes through Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls and Helena. Sweetgrass, Montana is an unincorporated community on the Canadian border.
12. I29

Answer: Kansas City, MO - Pembina, ND

I29 cuts through the country's northern midsection by running along the eastern borders of Kansas, Nebraska, and South and North Dakota. I29 is 750 miles long and with the exceptions of Omaha, Sioux Falls, and Fargo it passes through no major cities. I29's northern terminus, Pembina, ND, is only two miles from the Canadian border. Its population is slightly over 500.
13. I91

Answer: New Haven CT, - Derby Line, VT

I91 marches north for about 300 miles from New Haven through Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA. I91's northern terminus is Derby Line, VT located on the Canadian border. Its population hovers around 700. Derby Line is known for it's beautiful farmland and the surrounding Green Mountains.
14. I55

Answer: LaPlace, LA - Chicago, IL

I55 is a major interstate that travels almost 1000 miles. It goes through such cities as Jackson, MS, Memphis, TN, St. Louis, MO, Springfield. IL before terminating in Chicago. Just north of LaPlace I55 travels across the twenty mile long Manchac Swamp Bridge, one of the longest water bridges in the world.
15. I25

Answer: Las Cruces, NM - Buffalo, WY

I25, also known as the Pan-American Highway is a major interstate route in the western part of the country. I25 travels through Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM, Colorado Springs and Denver, CO, Cheyenne and Casper, WY before ending in Buffalo, WY. Buffalo is home to Heart Mt, a Japanese internment camp during WWII and the Big Horn Mountain range.
