Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At 140 on the list is an artist who started his solo career in 1942 with Bluebird Records. The album which got him on the list in this spot is "In the Wee Small Hours".

Answer: Frank Sinatra

Songs from this album are "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning", "Indigo Mood" and "What is This Thing Called Love"

This was a concept album arranged by Nelson Riddle and released in 1955. The songs are strung together and tell a bleak story. It is rumored that his relationship with Ava Gardner played a role in the mood of this album.

Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and he first worked with a local singing group, The Three Flashes.

His recordings, as well as solo, include work with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jo Stafford and the Pied Pipers, and The Rat Pack.

He has recorded for many labels, Bluebird, RCA, Columbia, Capitol, and Reprise , which was his own record label. His first solo recordings were on 78 speed records.

He would sometimes put out more then one album, with more then one record company in the same year.

As well as being singer, Sinatra was an actor and in 1954 he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in "From Here to Eternity".

He had a short retirement in the early 1970's but in the end he toured until a few years before his death

Tribute albums dedicated to him have been recorded since 1959 and as recent as 2008.

This album is the last one to have Dave Mustaine in the credits for the songs "Ride the Lightning" and "Call of Ktulu". Answer: Escape

The well known songs "Don't Stop Believing", "Who's Crying Now" and "Open Arms" all come from this album

The band originally got together in San Franciso. This album features Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Steve Smith, Jonathan Cain and Ross Valory. A later member of Journey was "American Idol's" Randy Jackson.

When it first came out I thought the use of E5C4P3 as the album title was strange, with the use of numbers for letters. Then in the last ten years with more use of the internet and text messaging it seems they were way ahead of their time with the usage.

Hollywood loves this album as shown by eleven different songs from this album being featured in movies or television shows, some of the songs in more then one movie, from 1980 - 2007.

Television shows where songs from this album were used include "The Simpsons", "Supernatural", "South Park", "The Shield" and "The Sopranos", including the final scene having "Don't Stop Believing" play on the diner jukebox.

"Don't Stop Believing" has been in Superbowl ad. A fan rallying call used by the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox and 2005 World Series champion Chicago White Sox, at whose victory parade Steve Perry sang the song, along with members of the team. Other sports teams that have used the song are the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins. Popular as it is, I don't think it will surpass Queen's "We are the Champions" in use at sporting events.
