Dr. Crusher discovers that each one died from medical problems and were immediately frozen after death with the hope that a cure in the future would be able to bring them back to life. The doctor is able to do just that.

But the always-clever acting ensign uses 'The Custodian' to his advantage, eventually asking him a series of questions that are instrumental in plotting his and the children's escape from the planet.

Data is there also, examining and analyzing each artist's personal interpretation, but he goes a little too far with the highly technical conclusions he draws up for Picard's work.

That lab was discovered to be hidden behind an artificial rock face (according to the sensor readings from Geordi's VISOR) down on the current wasteland of a planet where Data was originally retrieved by the Human colonists.

This one's a little tricky! The alien artifact, which has downloaded its library into the Enterprise's computer, has already begun gradually transforming the ship into an environment similar to its origins when Geordi and Worf are in engineering, attempting to ready a photon torpedo after a few modifications. When Geordi realizes that the torpedo isn't responding to controls, he opens up a hatch, only to be startled that there are a nest of snakes crawling around inside (yikes!). In "I, Borg", there was nobody on the ship analyzing a weapon in engineering; the only thing being 'analyzed' in this episode was 'Hugh', the Borg drone itself, by Geordi and Dr. Crusher while inside the science lab. In "Phantasms", it is in fact discovered that the organisms infesting the ship were attracted to the Enterprise's new warp core, preventing the ship from being able to engage warp speed. However, this discovery isn't made until the very end of the episode--AFTER Geordi and Picard are able to use Data to rid the creatures by interpreting the android's dreams on the holodeck. By that time, everything onboard the Enterprise was already back to normal. In "New Ground", the new soliton wave is the only technology in this episode being studied and analyzed, and there are no living lifeforms found inside of it while the experiment is being conducted.

After Picard, Troi and Data have beamed back onto the Enterprise, which has been frozen in time due to the temporal anomalies permeating the region, they all enter engineering, where they discover that a warp core breach is slowly in progress. When Picard walks over to the warp core, which is venting plasma, he beings laughing his head off, seeing an image of a smiley face within the plasma gas. The captain proceeds to laugh before getting riled up in a state of panic, a scan of his body revealing later that he was suffering from a form of temporal psychosis at that moment in engineering. In "The Naked Now", even though I would say the crew was making plenty of smiley faces at each other, the result of the intoxicating 'disease' having impaired their judgement and causing most of them to become romantically flirty, there are no artificial images of smiley faces seen anywhere on the Enterprise. In "The Game", the crew was making plenty of smiley faces again, this time the result of the device, which was brought onboard by Riker from Risa, giving everyone extreme pleasure. But also again, no artificial images of smiley faces are seen anywhere on the ship in this episode either, and the same holds true for the seventh-season episode "Genesis".

Which is too bad, because she has a very important secret to reveal, and no one to reveal it to.

They have some very interesting discussions along the way there.
