Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "In a thousand years, archaeologists will dig up tanning beds and think we fried people as punishment". Born in 1984, which American actress, producer and model made that hilarious comment?

Answer: Olivia Wilde

Born in New York in 1984, Olivia Wilde was born into a family of journalists, writers and lawyers. Yet, from a small child, she said she always wanted to be a performer and has been lucky enough to achieve that ambition in life. Olivia has featured in such shows as "The O.C" (2003-2007), a television series set around the lives of a group of teenagers and their families in Newport Beach, California, and in the long running series "House" (2004-2012), a medical drams in which she played a young intern with Huntington's disease. More than just a beautiful face, and possessing a great sense of humour though, Olivia has recently branched out into producing and directing as well.

The pictured clue is of a WILD jungle, as in Olivia WILDE.
2. "I make Jessica Simpson look like a rock scientist." Born in 1975, and also famous as an American model and actress, which co-star of the "The Big Lebowski" said this?

Answer: Tara Reid

Tara was talking about how smart she is during a 2005 interview when she made that statement. Well she was smart enough to become a movie star and model at any rate, even if she didn't know the difference between a geologist and a rocket scientist. Tara was born in New Jersey in 1975, and initially climbed up the ladder of fame as a child model, appearing in over 100 commercials before transitioning into the mainline acting business in television and movies. Her breakthrough role was in the 1998 "The Big Lebowski", in which she played the young, sexually energetic, apparently kidnapped, gold-digging wife of the Big Lebowski himself.

The pictured clue is of REEDS, as in Tara REID.
3. "I love the smell of diapers. I even like when they're wet and you smell them all warm liked baked goods". Actress, producer, model and fashion designer, which star of the ubiquitous "Sex and the City" said this of motherhood?

Answer: Sarah Jessica Parker

I'm definitely not going to her place for dinner. Sarah made that remark in 2009 when commenting about her love of being a mother. Born in Ohio in 1965, this extremely talented woman will probably be forever associated with the films and the long running television series "Sex In the City" (1998-2004) in which she starred as Carrie Bradshaw, a journalist writing a weekly column about the over the top life in the Big Apple she shares with three close women friends. Bit too rich for my taste, but this was one popular show indeed. Sarah is also a much in demand model, fashion designer, perfume creator and movie producer. Oh, and mother. With a peculiar sense of smell.

The pictured clue is of a PARKing lot, as in Sarah Jessica PARKER.
4. "It's really hard to maintain a one-on-one relationship if the other person is not going to allow me to be with "... ...". Can you complete that statement made by singer, song-writer, musician and apparently devoted partner, Axl Rose?

Answer: Other people

Singer-songwriter Axl Rose was born in Indiana in 1962 as William Bruce Rose Jnr. Axl Rose and the band Guns 'n Roses are names that will be forever entwined. He has been their lead vocalist since they were first formed in 1985, and, by 2015, was their last remaining original member. Rose is famous, or infamous, for his bad behaviour and volatile relationships just as much as for his music. Considering the above quote, that's somewhat understandable.

The pictured clue is of a ROSE, as in Axl ROSE.
5. "I think MTV should consider using subtitles. Half the time even I can't understand what I'm talking about." Singer, songwriter and TV personality, you somehow just have to like this celebrity in spite of his record. Who is he?

Answer: Ozzy Osbourne

You have to love this Godfather of Heavy Metal (born 1948) as he's known, even if you hate his music, and you have to love him for his constant boo-boos with just about everything he says, even though he is absolutely notorious for his life long abuse of drugs and alcohol and scandalous life style. And why? Because he makes you laugh whole-heartedly. Ozzy, though, probably wouldn't be alive today if not for his combination of wife, love and jailer, Sharon. She took him, controlled him (well, mostly), managed his career, looked after him, gave him several children, and more or less keeps him on the pot hole ridden straight and narrow. This big time vocalist and song writer from the notorious band Black Sabbath" has found renewed fame in later life in television and radio talk shows and his long running television reality show, "The Osbournes". That is where we got to know the real Ozzie, or what's left of him at any rate. And, well, you just have to love him. He's pure entertainment.

The pictured clue is of AUSTRALIA, as in OZZY Osbourne.
6. "He speaks English, Spanish, and he's bilingual too". Which famous boxing promoter made that comical statement?

Answer: Don King

Famous American boxing promoter Don King (born 1931) made that remark while promoting the now retired professional Mexican boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez. So funny. Today, Don is noted more for his appearances on assorted talk shows, and guest spots in the occasional television series or movie, but at the height of his boxing promoting career, he was a big name indeed. He has managed some of the most famous gloves of all in that game, including the great Mohammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Mike Tyson and Larry Holmes - just to name a few. Quite possibly the biggest coups of Don's career include the promotions of the famous "Rumble in the Jungle" bout between Foreman and Ali, and the even more famous "Thriller in Manilla" between Ali and Frazier. The second of those two matches would really have been something to watch. Don is also famous post boxing career for his charitable work and his political involvement.

The pictured clue is of a crown worn by a KING, as in Don KING.
7. "The word 'genius' isn't applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman ..." Can you complete this very funny comment by famous American sports commentator, Joe Theismann?

Answer: Einstein

Born in 1949, Joe Theismann is equally famous for his past football career as quarterback in the big leagues in both Canada and the United States, and his later career as a top sportscaster. He's rather less famous for his knowledge of people with high IQs. In his sports commentating career, Joe has worked for shows such as "Sunday Night Football", "Monday Night Football" and "Thursday Night Football". They're not very innovative with the names of their sports shows over there. Perhaps Albert Einstein could have helped with a few suggestions. Joe also does a spot of small time acting now and then, owns a restaurant and at one time was also part owner of the Florida Tuskers football team. He was inducted into the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1997.

The pictured clue is of EINSTEIN's famous theory.
8. "I was asked to come to Chicago because Chicago is one of our fifty-two ... '. Oh dear. Can you complete that statement made by American actress model, would be singer, and ex-weathergirl, Raquel Welch?

Answer: States

That's so terrible it's hilarious! To make matters worse, she actually spent the first twelve or so years of her life there. Born in 1940, actress Raquel Welch had made thirty-nine films and appeared in twenty-five different television shows by 2015. By the time she turned fourteen, she had already made her claim to fame, winning a beauty contest called - wait for it - Miss Contour. Marrying straight after high school to her childhood sweetheart, the couple had two children in quick succession, with Racquel destined to a life of happy obscurity it seemed, content though with the knowledge of her famous win. This was not to be however. Surprisingly so, what with her knowledge of geography and all, she won a scholarship to San Diego State College, studied drama there, and commenced her acting career from that time, mixed in with a bit of modelling and weather reporting along the way. Her most memorable role perhaps, clad in only a deer skin ragged bikini (Zzzz), was the 1966 "One Million Years BC", during which she had many scenes - but only three lines of dialogue.

The pictured clue is of the fifty American STATES, as in the question.
9. "The most beautiful make-up for a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy." Which notable, Algerian-born, French fashion designer, who lived from 1936 until 2008, made that insulting and prosaic remark?

Answer: Yves Saint Laurent

Oh what rubbish! The most beautiful make-up is passion indeed. Whichever way it's looked at, that statement above insults women. It implies that they either can only look beautiful during the throes of sexual passion, or that they have to buy same, or that they only look beautiful wearing make-up. Too predictable for words. Born in 1936, designer Yves Saint Laurent is looked upon today as one of the most famous names in the fashion industry. His highest achievement in that regard appears to be giving ready-to-wear clothing a glamorous image. Prior to this, it was looked upon more as clothing that could be conveniently worn to the office, or dresses worn by the blue rinse set. So we ladies, with our faces plastered with make-up instead of passion, have to thank this designer for that at least. Now, if only we could afford to buy his designs as well.

The pictured clue is of a SAINT, as in Yves SAINT Laurent.
10. "Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?" Which American President from 2001-2009 made that statement?

Answer: Bush

Born in 1946, George W. Bush was the 43rd President of the United States, holding that position from 2001-2009, and seeing the United States through some of its biggest upheavals in history. That included the infamous September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Poor old President Bush would never, ever win an award for public speaking. Basically he was a disaster at it and was noted for his constant spoonerisms, neologism and impossible grammatical errors. These, as well as the one quoted above, included the peculiar "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully", the mortifying "Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country.", the hilarious "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." and the head-scratching "You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror.". Yet to be fair, I truly believe most of us would also be inclined to babble incoherently at times if we had to give endless speeches, with people darting everywhere, security guards glaring ferociously at all and sundry, and flashlights constantly exploding in our faces. And I really mean that, I does.

The pictured clue is of a group of BUSHes, as in George BUSH.
