(The name Brian Murray was already taken by another actor.) From 1980-1981, Doyle-Murray was a "Weekend Update" anchor whose sign-off was, "Good night and good news".

Peter Aykroyd was an "SNL" writer and cast member, as was his older brother, Dan Aykroyd. However, the Aykroyds brothers were born in Canada and neither has a "Caddyshack" credit.

Harold Ramis co-wrote "Caddyshack" with Doyle-Murray and Douglas Kenney. Ramis also happens to be a Chicago native but wrote for "SCTV" not "SNL".

Former "SNL" cast member Chevy Chase starred in "Caddyshack". Vincent Chase is a character played by Adrian Grenier on the show "Entourage".
