Walt Longmire is the sheriff of Absaroka County, a small county in Wyoming. The county has a large Native American population who sometimes come into conflict with the non-Natives. "Lawman" stars John Russell as Dan Troop, a marshal in Laramie. His deputy is Johnny McKay (Peter Brown) who, at the start of the series, is barely an adult.
