"Newhart" starred Bob Newhart as Dick Loudon and Mary Frann as his wife Joanna. The Loudons were originally from New York but moved to Vermont to run a small, quite inn. Much of the series deals with their interactions with the local townspeople who are mostly uncultured and unusual. Overtime, Dick eventually became a local talk show host.

Many of the plotlines were unrealistic or illogical but the show was popular and ran for eight seasons.

Martin Preston was originally an actor who was unwittingly turned into a supervillain by Mephisto. Martin lost an arm in an accident and attempted to gain it back by making a deal with Mephisto. However, Mephisto reneged and took Martin's other limbs, replacing them with prosthetics possessed by a demon.

Although the exact setting for the franchise is sometimes vague, the 2000 animated series was set in Vermont.

"White Christmas" is a classic 1954 musical film starring Bing Crosby as Bob Wallace and Danny Kaye as Phil Davis. Bob and Phil were soldiers during World War II who became performers when the war ended. They meet up with the sisters Haynes, Betty and Judy (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) who are also performers.

They are supposed to perform at an inn in Vermont during the Christmas season but there is no snow in sight, much to their dismay. A series of events and misunderstanding causes rifts in the show and threatens the performance.
