Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was walking through a race car museum when I stumbled upon this Porsche 935 Turbo. I couldn't help but think that I had seen it somewhere before. Which fun-loving Autobot adopted this vehicle as his alternate mode?

Answer: Jazz

Jazz was one of the original Autobots released in 1984. He transformed into a Porsche 935 Turbo racer similar to the one in the photo. Jazz however wore number 4, not number 2. Jazz was a fun-loving Autobot who loved blasting Earth music, especially rock and roll, from his powerful speakers.

The real Porsche 935 was used primarily in endurance races such as 24 hour races held in Le Mans, France and Daytona Beach, Florida.
2. I took a vacation to Italy where I drove around this classic Lancia Stratos. I think it tried to sell me an automatic tire cleaner. What was the name of the Autobot inventor who claimed this vehicle as his alternate mode?

Answer: Wheeljack

This vehicle was adopted by the original Autobot, Wheeljack. He was an inventor, always designing a new weapon or device to aid his fellow Autobots in their war with the Decepticons. Those items would sometimes blow up in his face. The vehicle in the photo is a 1975 Lancia Stratos Turbo, which competed in rally races in Europe.

The logo for Alitalia, the national airline of Italy, was featured both on the car and the original 1984 toy of Wheeljack.
3. I headed over to the United Kingdom where I spotted this weird six-wheeled F-1 racer speeding around. I thought to myself, "This car has to be a giant robot." Which member of the Stunticons transformed into this vehicle sporting a yellow paint job?

Answer: Drag Strip

Drag Strip was one of the members of the Stunticons, a combiner team of the Decepticons who took the form of road vehicles. The Stunticons combined into the giant robot named Menasor. The vehicle in the photograph is a Tyrrell P34 racer which was built in the United Kingdom.

It was a unique F-1 racer design as it consisted of six-wheels. Drag Strip adopted this vehicle as his alternate mode in a mustard yellow color scheme.
4. This car isn't fooling anybody. I know it has to be a robot in disguise. He is either Bumblebee or that other dude. Looking at the photo, which other Autobot could this be?

Answer: Goldbug

In "Transformers" lore, the Autobot fan favorite Bumblebee was rebuilt into an Autobot known as Goldbug. He was a member of the Throttlebots, a line of toy vehicles which had a wind up motor. You wound up the motor by pulling the vehicle back and when you let go, the vehicle sped off. Both Bumblebee and Goldbug transformed into a Volkswagen Beetle.

The photo in this quiz is of the one millionth Beetle, which was painted gold and had jewels mounted on its bumper.
5. Wow!! This Lamborghini Countach is a real beauty. It has to be one of the Autobots. I know his yellow brother can be a narcissist, but this guy's pretty cool. Who could it be?

Answer: Sideswipe

The characters of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were considered to be brothers in "Transformers" fiction. They both chose the Lamborghini Countach as their alternate mode. Sideswipe was colored red and was a normal Countach similar to the one in the photo.

In fiction he was a cool, sometimes naïve Autobot warrior. Sunstreaker was colored yellow and had a supercharged engine. He had a tendency to be a little too vain.
6. Many people will remember this car from the "Back to The Future" films. Has this vehicle ever been used as an alternate mode for a Transformer?

Answer: Yes

The DeLorean DMC-12 was introduced in 1981. It only came in one color and though it looked stylish, it had poor performance which led to its discontinuation. It was most famously featured as the time machine in the "Back to the Future" films. It was also used as the alternate mode for the Autobot Micromaster, Swindler who was released in 1988.
7. There is a Transformer who uses a blue colored version of this vehicle as his alternate mode. He is a spy who is both an Autobot and a Decepticon. Who is it?

Answer: Punch

Punch and his alter-ego Counterpunch was an Autobot spy. His character had the unique ability to transform into two completely different robots, one being an Autobot and the other a Decepticon. His alternate mode most closely resembles the Pontiac Fiero, the vehicle shown in the photo. However, the character was colored blue, not silver.
8. This vehicle looks like one of the original Autobots. He used to look like this in the beginning, but was later recolored all silver. Which Autobot could this be?

Answer: Bluestreak

Bluestreak was one of the original "Transformers" toys released in 1984. His original design was that of a blue and silver Datsun 280ZX as shown in the photo. Later versions of the figure were manufactured with the character painted in all silver. He was later renamed Silverstreak after Hasbro lost the trademark to his name.
9. Oh my, its a tank! Hmm, I believe I have seen this green Leopard tank somewhere once before. I think it might actually be one of the Combaticons. Who could this be? (Hint: He'd be most likely to get into a bar fight)

Answer: Brawl

Brawl was one of the Combaticons, who were a team of Decepticons consisting of military vehicles. They would combine into the giant robot known as Bruticus. Brawl's alternate mode most closely resembles a Leopard 1 tank, the vehicle shown in the photograph. The Leopard was designed by German auto maker Porsche and made its debut in 1965.
10. I picked up this old van from a used car lot. When I brought it home it started leaking lubricant. It may be my imagination, but I thought I heard it grumble like an old man. Who might this be?

Answer: Ironhide

Ironhide was another of the original Autobots released in 1984. The toy of Ironhide is not very well received by fans as it lacks a proper head. Ironhide transforms into a boxy van similar to the one in the photograph. In fiction, Ironhide was depicted as an old, but tough war veteran and was a good friend and advisor to Optimus Prime.
