Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening scene of "The God Gambit", which Autobot was shot down by the Decepticons and crash landed on Saturn's moon, Titan?

Answer: Cosmos

The mini Autobot Cosmos, who transformed into a green UFO, seemed to crash in nearly every episode he was featured in, this one being no exception. In "The God Gambit", he was being pursued by the Decepticons near the planet Saturn. Cosmos was shot down and he crashed near a village on Saturn's moon, Titan.

The villagers believed he was one of their "Sky Gods" who fell out from the heavens.
2. "The God Gambit" was used to give a certain Decepticon triple changer some star treatment by giving him the lead villain role. Which character was it?

Answer: Astrotrain

The Decepticon triple changer Astrotrain was given the lead villain role in "The God Gambit". The episode may have been originally written to feature Megatron, but the writers may have changed it to feature Astrotrain as he was a newer character at the time. Astrotrain transformed into both a space shuttle and a steam locomotive.
3. Finish this quote from "The God Gambit": "Here's the church. Here's the steeple. Open the doors and where are the ______!"

Answer: People

The quote was spoken by the Decepticon Starscream after he, Astrotrain and Thrust arrived at the village on Titan. They discovered that the fleshling natives of the village worshiped beings that vaguely resembled Transformers. Astrotrain and the Decepticons decided to trick the natives into believing that they were the "Sky Gods" they had been worshiping.
4. What was the name of the female alien in "The God Gambit" who was the leader of an anti-religious faction on Titan?

Answer: Talaria

Talaria was the leader of an anti-religious faction on Titan who felt the "Sky Gods" were false and that they were just an excuse for village leaders to impose unfair taxes and laws on the citizens. Her arch nemesis was a religious leader named Jero, who forced the villagers to donate every scrap of food and money as a sacrifice to the gods. Jero declared his loyalty to the Decepticons when they revealed themselves to be the "Sky Gods".
5. In "The God Gambit", was Optimus Prime part of the rescue team that went to Titan after receiving the distress call on Earth?

Answer: No

The Decepticons had placed the unconscious body of Cosmos in the village's temple. Talaria found Cosmos and was able to activate his emergency radio transmitter. She informed Optimus Prime of Cosmos' condition. Optimus Prime then recruited the giant Autobot Omega Supreme (who transformed into a rocket base) to take him to Titan, but Red Alert (the Autobots' security chief) intervened and suggested that Prime send someone else instead. Perceptor and Jazz both volunteered to go to Titan with Omega Supreme to rescue Cosmos.
6. Jero attempted to gain favor from the "Sky Gods" in "The God Gambit" by leading them to what unique energy source?

Answer: Electric lava crystals

As a tribute to the "Sky Gods", Jero brought the Decepticons into the caves underneath the village. There they discovered energy crystals that were formed by pools of electric lava that existed underground and surrounded the village like a moat. The crystals were considered taboo to the villagers, but the villagers would later use them as archery projectiles since they were highly explosive.
7. What happened to Omega Supreme when he arrived at Titan in "The God Gambit"?

Answer: He ran out of fuel and crashed

Before leaving the Earth, Omega Supreme had warned the Autobots that the trip from Earth to Titan would consume nearly all of his fuel. When Omega Supreme arrived at Titan, his engine gave out just as he entered the atmosphere and he crashed atop of a steep cliff.

His momentum nearly caused him to tip over the edge into the electric lava moat. Unable to help him, Perceptor and Jazz left the disabled Omega Supreme teetering on the cliff to go search for Cosmos and find Omega some fuel.
8. After capturing the alien rebel leader, the Decepticon "Gods" wished for the "heretic" to be sacrificed. How was this to be done?

Answer: Her heart was to be extracted

Following a failed rescue attempt by Jazz and Perceptor, the Decepticons managed to capture Talaria. They decided to make an example of her to the rest of the villagers by demanding that she be sacrificed. Talaria was chained to a table and Jero pulled out a three pronged object designed to extract her heart. Jazz managed to save Talaria before the sacrifice could be done.
9. "Die, like the _____ you are!" Which word completes this quote from "The God Gambit"?

Answer: worm

Perceptor and Jazz had discovered the electric lava and energy crystals for themselves. Perceptor then decided to take some crystals back to revive Omega Supreme, who was still teetering on the cliff. Omega Supreme was revived at the last minute and he flew over to the village and proceeded to trash the Decepticons. Astrotrain then decided to destroy the energy crystals, which would wipe out the entire village. Jero had pleaded for Astrotrain to spare him, but Astrotrain told him to "Die, like the worm you are!" before he escaped with the other Decepticons.
10. At the end of "The God Gambit", Omega Supreme managed to save the entire Titan village by transforming himself into a bridge.

Answer: True

Astrotrain started an explosive chain reaction by firing at the energy crystals. The Autobots and the villagers had only a few moments to evacuate before the area would be completely obliterated. Omega Supreme walked over to the edge of the electric moat and transformed into his rocket base mode.

He extended his track section across the moat, which the villagers and Autobots used as a bridge over to the other side.
