Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which famous Marvel superhero made a guest appearance in Issue #3 - "Prisoner of War!" (Jan. 1985)?

Answer: Spider-Man

Spider-Man teamed up with the Autobot Gears to rescue Sparkplug Witwicky from the Decepticons. At the time the issue was published, Spider-Man was still wearing his black symbiotic outfit.
2. What was the name of Decepticon commander on Cybertron who oversaw the construction of the Space Bridge?

Answer: Straxus

The Space Bridge in the comics was constructed in Issue #18 - "The Bridge to Nowhere" (Jul. 1986). Straxus became the commander of the Decepticons on Cybertron following the departure of Megatron. He transformed into a mobile cannon. Blaster kills Straxus by knocking him off the bridge.
3. What was the name of the human who copied Optimus Prime's personality onto a floppy disk?

Answer: Ethan Zachary

In Issue #24 - "Afterdeath" (Jan. 1987), Ethan Zachary convinced Optimus Prime and Megatron to settle their battle in a simulated game. The loser of the game would be destroyed in the real world. Optimus Prime won, but forfeited the game, after learning he had killed civilians in the game. Prime's body was destroyed, but the game saved his personality onto a disk.

The disk would later be used to resurrect Optimus Prime.
4. Which Autobot was elected commander after Optimus Prime's death in Issue #27 - "King of the Hill" (Apr. 1987)?

Answer: Grimlock

Grimlock would become the worst Autobot leader ever. Grimlock ruled the Autobots like a tyrant, and even wore a crown to emphasize his rule. Anyone who spoke against his actions was marked a traitor.
5. What was the name of Fortress Maximus' original headmaster partner?

Answer: Galen

Galen became Fort Max' binary partner during "The Headmasters" mini-series. Galen was killed in Issue #38 - "Trial by Fire" (Mar. 1988), while attempting to save Spike Witwicky from the Decepticons. Feeling guilty, Spike would become Fortress Maximus' partner for the rest of the series.
6. Which Transformer singlehandedly deactivated more than 50 Autobots and Decepticons in one issue?

Answer: Starscream

Starsceam was powered up by a device known as The Underbase in Issue #50 - "Dark Star" (Mar. 1989). The intense power allowed Starscrem to deactivate even the mightiest Transformers (i.e. Omega Supreme, Grimlock) with one blow. Only those with organic parts or binary-bonded partners were able to survive the Underbase's power. Starscrem eventually consumed too much power and was destroyed himself.
7. In Issue #61, "Primal Scream" (Dec. 1989), which character accidentally struck the sleeping God, Primus, in the face, causing him to scream?

Answer: Octopunch

Octopunch fired a shot at Grimlock. The projectile ricocheted off Grimlock's back and struck Primus in the face. Primus awoke and screamed so loud that Unicron was able to pinpoint Cybertron's location.
8. During The Matrix Quest mini-series (Issue #62 - 66), which planet was NOT searched?

Answer: Klo

Klo was a planet invaded by Decepticon commander Bludgeon, during the last few issues of the series. The Matrix was found on the planet Vs-Qs.
9. What was the name of the substance Grimlock used to revive the Dinobots in Issue #71 - "The Price of Life" (Sept. 1990)?

10. What was the name of the Autobot who became possessed by the essence of Primus in Issue #73 - "Out of Time" (Dec. 1990)?

Answer: Emirate Xaaron

Emirate Xaaron was in charge of the Autobot forces on Cybertron. Primus used Xaaron as a medium to communicate with the Transformers. Xaaron however would be destroyed by Unicorn.
