Five Faces of Darkness Trivia Quiz

In "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1", the new Autobot leader Rodimus Prime was called upon to open the first galactic Olympic games. During the competition, a small alien set off a flash bomb which blinded everyone. Several silhouetted robots (Sharkticons) attacked the Autobots and took Ultra Magnus, Kup and Spike Witwicky as prisoners. Arcee and Springer chased after the alien's ship, while Rodimus remained to investigate the mystery.

Answer: Chaar

After the Decepticon leader Galvatron was defeated by Rodimus Prime in "Transformers: The Movie", the remaining Decepticons fled to a dark lifeless planet named Chaar. They were seen fighting amongst one another for what little energy was available to them. Rodimus Prime suspected the Decepticons were responsible for the attack at the games and went with Grimlock to Chaar to investigate.

Answer: Carbombya

Using his "trusty Decepticon detector", Autobot Outback was able to flush out two Decepticons hiding in the fictional nation of Carbombya. The nation was a parody of Middle Eastern nations and was ruled by Abdul Fakkadi, the "President-for Life, King of Kings of the Socialist Democratic Federated Republic of Carbombya".

This parody unfortunately led to voice actor Casey Kasem (Bluestreak/Cliffjumper/Teletraan-1) leaving the show, since he was of Lebanese decent and was offended by the concept of Carbombya.

Answer: Teaspoon, Chief Dishwasher

In "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2", the Quintesson judges were interrogating Kup, attempting to gain information about the Autobots and Cybertron. They knew that Kup was the Chief of Security, but he played dumb and told them that his name was Teaspoon, Cybertron's Chief Dishwasher.

The Quintessons did not seem to want to question Spike Witwicky as they had little knowledge and a fear of the human species.

Answer: Springer

Rodimus Prime and Grimlock had been observing the Decepticons on Chaar. They determined that the Decepticons could not have been the ones to attack them, since they were so low on energy. They end up getting spotted and the Decepticons physically overwhelm the two Autobots. Arcee and Springer manage to rescue them from the Decepticon mob. Rodimus was beaten down so badly, he felt that he was dying and requested that Springer become the new leader. Rodimus fell unconscious and the Matrix of Leadership caused him to have vision involving the Quintessons.

He later woke up from his vision and ordered the Autobots to head to Quintessa.

Answer: Thrull

Cyclonus had taken temporary command of the Decepticons. He and the Sweeps traveled to the head of Unicron to attempt to pinpoint their leader Galvatron's location after he was ejected from Unicron's body. Scourge, the leader of the Sweeps, used his psychic ability and discovered Galvatron on a volcanic planet named Thrull. Cyclonus and the Sweeps went to Thrull and pulled Galvatron out of a pool of lava.

The lava had damaged Galvatron's brain, which caused him to become a psychotic lunatic. Despite this, Cyclonus and the Sweeps were relieved to have finally found their leader.

Answer: Io

Blurr and Wheelie had been sent on a special assignment to Earth by Perceptor. Their mission was to deliver a new transformation cog designed for the giant Autobot, Metroplex. While en route to Earth, they were intercepted by Galvatron, Cyclonus and the Sweeps. Blurr decided to head to Jupiter in order to evade the Decepticons.

However, Galvatron destroyed the ship and chased down the two Autobots as they fell through Jupiter's atmosphere. Galvatron fired at the two which ignited a huge explosion. Galvatron believed they were destroyed, but the blast actually sent them to Jupiter's moon, Io.

Answer: Springer

Rodimus Prime's crew arrived at Quintessa and had managed to rescue Ultra Magnus, Kup and Spike. However, the Quintessons blew up their homeworld in the hopes that it would take the Autobots down with it. The Autobots' rescue ship was destroyed in the blast and the Autobots were sent adrift in space until they eventually landed on the planet Goo. On Goo, the Autobots encountered a large vacuum machine which sucked up Springer and left him in pieces. Rodimus disabled the machine by placing some of the goo into its engine.

Answer: Blitzwing

The Quintessons, while being highly intelligent, were at a disadvantage when it came to military might. After their homeworld was destroyed, the Quintessons went to the Decepticons who were still on Chaar to ask for their help against the Autobots. They offered them energy in exchange for their services.

The Decepticon triple changer Blitzwing was hesitiant about joining the Quintessons and declined their offer. The rest of the Decepticons accepted the Quintessons' proposal and went with them to attack the Autobots on Goo.

Answer: Wreck-Gar

Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus managed to stumble upon an abandoned communications room on Goo. It turned out that Goo was controlled by the Autobots new allies, the Junkions. The Junkion leader, Wreck-Gar answered the call and Rodimus explained their situation to him. Wreck-Gar and the Junkions soon arrived to rescue the Autobots from the Decepticons. On the Planet of Junk, Wreck-Gar managed to put Springer back together. Rodimus then decided to short himself out in order to further explore the history of the Transformers and the Quintessons using the Matrix.

Answer: No

When Galvatron arrived at Chaar, he discovered only Blitzwing remaining on the planet. Galvatron was not pleased when Blitzwing told him that the rest of the Decepticons had gone to fight with the Quintessons. He arrived at the planet Goo and began attacking everyone in sight.

After the Autobots managed to escape, Galvatron confronted the Quintessons, who extended their offer of an alliance to him. They told him that they could help him obtain the Decepticon Matrix of Leadership, which convinced Galvatron to accept their proposal.

The Decepticon Matrix was later discovered to be a hoax by Blitzwing.

Answer: Marissa Faireborn

Marissa Faireborn was an officer with the Earth Defense Command, a military organization developed by humans to defend Earth against the Decepticons. Her father was the "G.I. Joe" character Flint, whose real name was Dashiell Faireborn. Marissa was contacted by Blaster after Blurr and Wheelie get stranded on Io.

She headed out on her own to attempt to rescue them and bring them back to Earth. When she arrived at Io, she ended up stranded herself when her ship was destroyed by robotic alien bat-bombs.

Answer: Trypticon

The Decepticons and Quintessons developed a plan to attack both Earth and Cybertron simultaneously. On Earth, the Constructicons completed Trypticon, a large robotic dinosaur who transformed into a city and battle station. When he first came online, Trypticon went after the volcano which housed the original Autobot headquarters.

A small team of Autobots attempted to stop Trypticon, but were overwhelmed. The volcano was easily destroyed by Trypticon, who then turned his attention to Autobot City and the disabled Metroplex.

Answer: Predacons

The Quintessons sent the newly created Predacons to Io to retrieve Metroplex' transforming cog from Blurr, Wheelie and Marissa. The team consisted of five robots who became various animals. The Predacons merged to become the giant robot known as Predaking.

The Predacons arrived at Io and immediately attacked Blurr, Wheelie and Marissa. The Autobot Sky Lynx, a large four-legged bird who became a space shuttle, soon arrived to fight off the Predacons and rescue Marissa, Blurr and Wheelie. They successfully delivered the transformation cog to Metroplex, who would go on to defeat Trypticon.

Answer: Activate a switch to disable all Transformers

Blitzwing discovered that the Quintessons were deceiving the Decepticons and that they had sent a team of Sharkticons to Cybertron to activate a switch that would disable all Transformers. The Quintessons had been the former rulers of Cybertron and were the creators of the Transformers.

Their true intention was to take back their former world. Blitzwing attempted to tell Galvatron, but he refused to believe him. Blitzwing then told the Autobots and joined with them to stop the Sharkticons. Galvatron, thinking that Blitzwing had other motives, activated the switch himself disabling all Cybertronians across the galaxy.

However, the Quintessons had forgotten about the human Spike Witwicky. He destroyed the console which freed the Transformers.
