Hint

Question 2 of 10

Question 3 of 10
3. As is true for many, Noah Sark had very little time for the rubbish that was "The Da Vinci Code", so when it comes to trying to save the Holy Grail from being forever lost to the flood, his preference is to go down the archaeological route instead. With which film starring Harrison Ford would Noah need to become reacquainted if he wished to locate the Holy Grail? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. A life after the flood with no means of creating music would be a depressing prospect indeed. Which television show, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, would provide clues to aid Noah Sark in pinpointing the resting place of a misanthropic sleuth's violin? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. In a dog-eat-dog post-flood world, personal protection is paramount and the very wise Noah Sark wasn't going to overlook this fact! He recalled a 2019 Disney+ release called "The Mandalorian", where the title character was indestructible due to the steel armour he donned. With which franchise would Noah have to get up to speed in order to even consider finding such desirable gear? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Noah Sark is a minimalist....mostly! That said, even a man of his advanced years appreciates a bit of bling from time to time. What gemstone would Noah supposedly be protecting from the flood if he obtained Judy Garland's famous footwear from 1939? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. An understanding of chemistry would be vital to recolonising Earth after the year of the flood. Noah Sark knew this all too well but he would be the first to admit that he was no scientist! Key to this would be preserving a copy of the periodic table; luckily he remembered that Leonard and Sheldon had a periodic table shower curtain in which much loved US television show? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Noah Sark was desperate to rescue the regal object that was focussed on during the intro to a superb Netflix production. Noah was adamant that it was for preservation and nothing to do with the gemstones! What object, worn by Claire Foy, did Noah desire? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Noah Sark felt that the year of the flood provided as good a time as any to try and fish out 'Le Coeur de la Mer', a necklace that Ms DeWitt Bukater rather rebelliously threw into the Atlantic Ocean back in 1997...or was it 1912? Anyhow, what is the English name of the necklace that Noah seeks? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. In his pursuit to ensure a fresh, positive start for the world, Noah Sark thought it of utmost importance that Emilio Largo's octopus ring be salvaged from the abyss. That way the survivors of the flood would be reminded of the potential world destruction that looms when an organisation like SPECTRE runs riot! In order to pinpoint the location of Emilio Largo's ring, Noah needed to first recall the name of the James Bond film in which Largo appeared.

Help our old friend Noah out, in which film was Largo the bad guy?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Noah Sark is a man who knows his priorities and before embarking on his journey to save other relics from the mother of all floods, he needed to navigate his way to what was the charming English village of Dibley to find, and forever preserve, which of the following personal items worn by the religious leader of the settlement?

Answer: Cross

"The Vicar of Dibley" is a great example of pleasant British sitcoms, with its loveable characters, good humour and gentle plots. Through comedy, it manages to capture the essence of Anglicanism in England which to many other parts of the world can seem a half-hearted approach to religion.

The point really demonstrated by "The Vicar of Dibley" is that the social and community aspect of the church and religion often matters more than the theology. Dawn French plays Geraldine Granger, the cross-donning vicar of the parish, but it is Alice Tinker, the verger, who steals the show. Alice, played superbly by Emma Chambers, is not known for her intellect and this provides a large proportion of the show's funny moments. If you haven't watched the show yet, when you do get around to it make sure to watch right to the close for the joke scenes with the vicar and the verger!
2. Noah Sark wanted to be certain that a component of the Deathly Hallows had definitely been destroyed, as life after the flood would be much safer without an object so powerful. The remnants of which of these items, fabled to have been snapped at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, would Noah have to retrieve?

Answer: The Elder Wand

Towards the end of Harry Potter's journey, the Deathly Hallows became an ever more important part of the story. The Deathly Hallows, of which there are three, would allow anybody who happened to hold them the ability to cheat "Death" and live forever.

The three Deathly Hallows are the Invisibility Cloak, the Resurrection Stone and the Elder Wand, the last of which was destroyed by Harry after the final showdown with Lord Voldemort. Noah needs to sail to Hogwarts to try and find the wand - good luck finding all its pieces!

Answer: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Once Noah familiarises himself with "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", he will be on his way to discovering the whereabouts of the Holy Grail. One of the most memorable scenes shows the title character, played of course by Harrison Ford, attempting to reach the Holy Grail by spelling the name of God.

Initially, Indiana Jones puts his foot down on the letter "J" which nearly leads to him falling to his death. He realises that Jehovah, in Latin, starts with the letter "I" and he continues on his way. Noah Sark would never have chosen "J"!
4. A life after the flood with no means of creating music would be a depressing prospect indeed. Which television show, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, would provide clues to aid Noah Sark in pinpointing the resting place of a misanthropic sleuth's violin?

Answer: Sherlock

Arthur Conan Doyle's famous creation, Sherlock Holmes, has been reimagined and repackaged into many different forms of entertainment over the years. Each generation tends to reinterpret the sleuth to make the character appeal to a contemporary audience and this is true of the BBC television show, "Sherlock".

The best interpretations do however remain faithful, at least to some extent, to the original material. "Sherlock", starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character and Martin Freeman as Dr John Watson, takes a very fresh approach to the material but retains nods to the past by featuring the deerstalker and the violin! Noah should know by now that he needs to head to 221b Baker Street to find what he seeks!

Answer: Star Wars

"The Mandalorian" was an intriguing addition to the "Star Wars" franchise that had to carefully expose viewers to many new planets without descending into a travelogue. In the debut season, the titular character had to protect a Yoda-like being, young yet old, from those who wished to exploit the latter's powers for their own ends. Our faceless hero was able to do this through a combination of skill, judgement and great armour made from Mandalorian steel (Beskar).

Now the question is does a man who has been alive for over nine centuries have the desire to head into space for some steel? Noah contented himself with the knowledge that the flood only impacted Earth; space - another mission for another day!
6. Noah Sark is a minimalist....mostly! That said, even a man of his advanced years appreciates a bit of bling from time to time. What gemstone would Noah supposedly be protecting from the flood if he obtained Judy Garland's famous footwear from 1939?

Answer: Ruby

In order to find the very famous ruby slippers, Noah watched the 1939 classic, "The Wizard of Oz", which starred Judy Garland as the youthful and courageous Dorothy Gale. He was left none the wiser as to the location of the ruby slippers but he thought the best approach would be to follow the yellow brick road. Even if he found the slippers, Noah would be in for a surprise as rather than acquiring rubies, he would instead find himself in possession of glass beads and many, many sequins!

Answer: The Big Bang Theory

"Our whole Universe was in a hot dense state" begins the theme of "The Big Bang Theory", the hit American TV show originally broadcast from 2007 to 2019. Physicists Leonard and Sheldon are flatmates in Pasadena, California and the show follows their awkward attempts at social interaction.

There is of course an element of playing on the stereotype of the socially inept physicist but it is always done in a friendly way. Whether that be their obsession with comic books, their equations scrawled all over whiteboards, Darth Vader shampoo or their shower curtain which shows the periodic table in all its glory! Noah will have to get through Leonard and his lightsaber if he wants to obtain that shower curtain!
8. Noah Sark was desperate to rescue the regal object that was focussed on during the intro to a superb Netflix production. Noah was adamant that it was for preservation and nothing to do with the gemstones! What object, worn by Claire Foy, did Noah desire?

Answer: The Crown

The introduction to "The Crown" sets the mood for the rest of the show with the music as important as the imagery. The theme continues to build through the opening sequence until the viewer cannot fail to feel the sense of majesty, privilege, responsibility, isolation and burden of monarchy. The scene that has stuck with me the most is the discussion between George VI and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; a dying King tells the future Prince that "she [Elizabeth] is the job, she is the essence of your duty" and not the titles or the Dukedom. The soundtrack, "Duck Shoot", makes the scene extraordinary as it allows you to feel, not just observe, the changing of the guard, the shifting of responsibility from reigning monarch to heir, to his young daughter.

In the first two series, Claire Foy plays Elizabeth II with Matt Smith and Jared Harris acting the parts of Prince Philip and George VI, respectively.

Answer: The Heart of the Ocean

"Titanic", one of the most successful films in terms of Academy Awards, is etched into the minds of a generation despite the movie dividing opinion. The film that made everybody a naval historian overnight starred Leonardo DiCaprio as a devil-may-care Jack Dawson, opposite Kate Winslet portraying the socially suffocated Rose DeWitt Bukater. Rose was due to marry her way into the upper class but it didn't make her happy.

In fact, Rose often rebelled against her upward social mobility through acts such as contemplation of suicide and throwing the very expensive necklace, The Heart of the Ocean, into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Luckily, Noah doesn't mind travelling to the abyss, he has just the vessel for the job!

Answer: Thunderball

Emilio Largo, played by Adolfo Celi, was the villain in "Thunderball" (1965) who aimed to extort money from the British and the Americans through stealing nuclear weapons from NATO. In a much parodied scheme, Largo threatened to cause nuclear carnage unless the UK or USA governments paid him ridiculous sums of money. Fans of the "Austin Powers" series of films will remember that one such parody of this scheme entailed Dr Evil asking the US President for "one hundred billion dollars"!

Emilio Largo was affiliated with SPECTRE which stands for the rather contrived "Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion". Sounds like a government department!

Noah decided it wasn't that important after all and decided to chill with a vodka martini, shaken not stirred.
