Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What were the only movies played in the movie theater?

Answer: 'Titanic' and 'Men in Black'

'Titanic' and 'Men in Black' were the only two movies in Mother's database. Roger Dodger hated the way the new town was built because everyone was so much older than he. Roger realized he was the only ten-year-old left in the universe.
2. Which of the following did Roger Dodger not miss from the Remnants' previous struggles?

Answer: Being hungry

Roger Dodger preferred not having his own house and the expectations that came with it, such as wearing proper clothes and going to bed at a decent hour. The life Billy gave them was too boring for Roger, who wanted to be in a sweaty, desperate situation, fighting for his life.
3. Jobs noticed someone had a Southern accent. Who was it?

Answer: Tamara

Because Tamara had been the spokesperson for the baby/Shipwright, she never truly used her own voice. After the Shipwright was destroyed, Tamara was finally free and able to speak her own opinions in her own way. Jobs noticed a Southern lilt he hadn't noticed before.
4. Who were the only ones to speak to Kubrick?

Answer: 2Face and D-Caf

Kubrick felt very close to 2Face because they were the most alike. Kubrick's skin had been removed to look more like a Shipwright and half of 2Face's face was badly burned. D-Caf grew sick of being around Yago, but Kubrick didn't feel like making friends. Kubrick sat and kept track of how long he went without anyone speaking to him. To Kubrick, 2Face was the only thing worth surviving for.
5. What weapon did Billy create for the Remnants?

Answer: A dragon

The Remnants needed weapons in case any of the aliens attacked. They had broken the Big Compromise by changing the ship's course. The dragon was awkward and its wings were all wrong because Billy created it based solely on his memories. He and Jobs wanted a weapon that the Blue Meanies and Riders wouldn't expect. Tamara grew angry because she preferred much stronger weaponry.
6. Why was Noyze so angry with 2Face?

Answer: 2Face had tricked her

2Face basically tricked Noyze and the others by saying Jobs and the others had been killed by the Blue Meanies. This caused them to go along with 2Face's idea to change the ship's course. Noyze preferred to negotiate a treaty with the aliens instead of going to war with them.
7. What did Billy create to keep the Remnants safe?

Answer: An immense wall

Jobs watched as bit by bit, Billy created the towering wall. Each piece was four feet long and appeared every fifteen seconds, making the wall grow. This special wall acted as a one-way mirror. The Remnants could see through it but nothing on the opposite side could see. Also, a human could walk through it and re-enter by having someone else pull them back through.
8. Which was not a name given to a Blue Meanie by Yago?

Answer: Yago's Rock-Hard Abs

The Blue Meanies assumed they had put a stop to the betrayal of their own. But Yago maintained his "magic touch," which gave Blue Meanies great joy. Several Meanies betrayed their brothers and willingly accepted their new names. Yago named them as egotistically as he could, but there was no Yago's Rock Hard Abs.
9. What was Olga's secret cure?

Answer: Tea and a shot of Tabasco

"Works great on the flu," Mo'Steel joked. Olga wanted to give the newcomer Charlie her "miracle cure." He arrived on the brink of death at the wall. No one could find Dr. Cohen, so Olga took it upon herself to help him. Violet helped her bathe him as well.
10. Who died in this book?

Answer: D-Caf and Roger Dodger

Both boys died. Roger Dodger accidentally died when he was practicing fighting with a dangerous Rider boomerang. D-Caf died during the Blue Meanie attack on the Remnants. However, they were each given new life when Violet finally revealed her mutation. She had felt the worms inside of her since she first woke up.
