The Andean Condor has a wingspan of 3.5 meters or more. The Californian Condor is slightly smaller. Although the albatross also has a big wingspan, its body is smaller and lighter allowing it to take off,(with difficulty),from flat surfaces(water and land). So being big isn't always an advantage.
