He passed away in June, 2015 at the age of 79. He lived to see his creations become a ubiquitous fixture worldwide, a symbol of kitsch and campiness.

All these events were undeniably sad, but the only one in which a pink Chanel suit played a part was the assassination of JFK in Dallas, Texas.
