1. Which of the following is a small Victorian island, to the north of French Island in Westernport Bay?

Answer: Quail Island

Quail Island is around 50km south east of Melbourne on Westernport Bay which was discovered by George Bass in 1797. Nearby French Island has a National Park covering half its land mass, which is home to one of Australia's largest koala colonies.
2. The heart of 'Opal Country' is in Queensland, but what is the name of the largest town in this area?

Answer: Quilpie

Quilpie, 'Opal Heart' of Australia is just off the Matilda Highway in Queensland's outback, where the dry red earth holds fiery coloured boulder opal in now world famous opal fields. The altar in Quilpie's Roman Catholic Church is made out of opal rocks and is unique!

Queanbeyan is in New South Wales, on the Queanbeyan River, 291km south west of Sydney and 18km south east of central Canberra. The name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'clear waters', and Queanbeyan was established as a town in 1828 with a post office and store built in 1836, a magistrate in 1837, and a hospital in 1847.

The bushrangers Ben Hall and Frank Gardiner roamed the district from the 1840's to the 1860's. Queanbeyan was declared a city in 1972.

Quellington is set in the 'Avon Valley', not far from the town of York. The Quellington School House was built in 1885 from bricks and mortar in the 'English Garden Wall' style and was fully restored in 1994.
