Jedburgh lies on Jed Water, a tributary of the River Teviot. The town's 12th century castle changed hands between the Scots and English many times, before being destroyed in 1409.

Jarrow lies on the south bank of the River Tyne, and was formerly part of County Durham. The Jarrow Crusade of 1936 saw 207 men walk to London to lobby Parliament, where Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin refused to meet them...

Answer: John O' Groats

Situated on the north Caithness coast, overlooking the Pentland Firth, John O'Groats is the starting point for many charity walks to Land's End in Cornwall, around 875 miles away.
4. Which Leicestershire village is synonymous with fox hunting?

Answer: Quorn

Quorn is situated a few miles south of Loughborough. The Quorn Hunt was founded in 1696, but fox hunting with dogs has been banned in England and Wales since 2004.
5. Which London suburb is home to Brunel University?

Answer: Uxbridge

Uxbridge lies on the western fringes of Greater London, in Hillingdon Borough. Brunel University was founded in 1966, and is named after the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
6. Which Staffordshire town has had a market since 1251, and is the site of a national hunt racecourse?

Answer: Uttoxeter

Uttoxeter market contains a kiosk which commemorates Dr Samuel Johnson standing bareheaded in the rain in 1780, doing penance for refusing to tend his father's bookstall.
7. What is the name of the resort on the Isle of Wight which sometimes calls itself the "Madeira of England"?

Answer: Ventnor

Situated on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, Ventnor's mild climate allows subtropical plants to be grown locally.
8. Which county town, beginning with Y, is home to the National Railway Museum, a famous cathedral known as the Minster, and a medieval shopping street called The Shambles?

Answer: York

The traditional county town of Yorkshire, York lies at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. The city centre is surrounded by ancient Roman Walls.

Answer: Yeovil

Yeovil Town soccer club are nicknamed The Glovers due to the Somerset town's long history in that industry. AgustaWestland build helicopters in the town.

Answer: Zennor

Situated a few miles west of St Ives, Zennor is named after St Senara. Local attractions include the Wayside Folk Museum.
