Burkina Faso gained independence, as the Republic of Upper Volta, from France in 1960. The name was changed to "land of honest people" Burkina Faso in 1984.

Bhutan is of course landlocked, but one thing the two countries do have in common is subtropical climate, with the south of Bhutan having surprisingly similar weather to Bermuda for much of the year.
