Edinburgh is known as Auld Reekie or Old Smokey. This comes from the thick smoke and stench of sewage which was present in medieval times, aggravated by the old city being surrounded by a wall.
The Fair City is Perth, City of Discovery is Dundee and Dear Green Place is of course Glasgow.

Answer: Fort William

Situated near the foot of Ben Nevis, which is the highest peak in the UK. Fort William is also known as the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. It is also the end (or the start) of the West Highland Way which is a footpath all the way down to Milngavie, just north of Glasgow. A wee walk of 96 miles or so.
