Jack lang was Premier of NSW during 1925-1927 and 1930-1932. In 1931, he disagreed with the policies of the John Scullin's Federal Labor government for coping with Depression. He formed his own "Lang Labor Party".

The New Guard threatened civil unrest and were kept under the watchful eye of the NSW Police. About 750,000 people attended the opening of the Harbour Bridge. It was officially opened by the NSW Premier, Jack Lang.

Phar Lap was born in New Zealand in 1926 but raced in Australia. Phar Lap won 37 races from 51 starts. Phar Lap died in the USA, after racing in Mexico, due to arsenic poisoning. This was confirmed by scientists in 2006.

This person went to Sir Philip with a copy of a memorandum showing what the NSW government was doing. Sir Philip thought the action of the NSW government was illegal. Jack Lang stood firm and Sir Philip decided to dismiss the government. Bertram Stevens of the United Australia Party became Premier.

Some batsmen were injured and the Australian Cricket Board were calling the English tactics "unsportsmanlike", which caused a diplomatic crisis. The English were threatening to go back to England and not complete the matches. Jospeh Lyons, the Prime Minister of Australia, stepped in and forced the Cricket Board to retract their statement.
