2. What is the nickname that Yoopers commonly call the residents who were born and raised in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan?

Answer: troll

The upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan are separated by Lake Michigan and are connected by the Mackinac Bridge. The term troll is also used to refer to the mythical creature which lives under the Mackinac Bridge.
3. What term is used for someone who grew up in the Lower Peninsula, but moved to the Upper Peninsula?

The term trooper comes from the combination of the words yooper and troll. Although the U.P. is known for some great fishing waters, many people move there for various jobs in mining, logging and farming fields.
