Answer: Ladies dresses

Mrs Bestler lives on the third floor yet sometimes forgets where she lives. She likes to play elevator operator and calls the department store section when people get into the elevator. Usually lingerie and better ladies dresses are on the second floor (Stephanie's floor) but occasionally the 'department store apartment building' does a bit of rearranging. Also occasionally appearing on the second floor are: designer shoes, handbags, designer suits, lingerie and the ladies' lounge.

Answer: Morelli

Grandma Bella is Morelli's grandmother on his mother's (?) side. She 'puts the eye' on people, often with disastrous effect. Grandma Bella 'put the eye' on Diane Fripp and she had her period non-stop for three months, Ramond Cone's hair fell out when 'the eye' was put on him, and Ray Barkolowski had all his teeth fall out.

Grandma Bella also has 'visions' which can be just as scary as having 'the eye' put on you.

Answer: A six-pack

Stephanie is not the type of person (as confused as she is about her love-life) to sleep with someone as payment for their help. Joe and Ranger don't count as she has a very convoluted relationship with both of them. Dillon doesn't have a dog, he lives in the basement of the apartment building and doesn't have the room for any animals. Neither Dillon nor Stephanie have ever suggested that they go bounty hunting together. With Dillon, things will be fixed in a flash from new door locks, graffiti removal and repainting of walls, to replacing old doors and windows when required, and it will all be done for measly payment of one six-pack of beer.

Answer: Shirley-the-Whiner

Eddie Gazarra's wife is ALWAYS referred to as 'Shirley-the-Whiner'. Eddie helps Stephanie out with searches and small 'cop' details that she can't obtain for herself and is usually first on the scene when one of Stephanie's cars blows up. He is also first to call Morelli when Stephanie is in trouble and is always looking for a babysitter for his kids.

Answer: Mosel

Dave Nelson and his partner, Scooter, take over Stiva's funeral home in 'Twelve Sharp' after Constantine Stiva gets sent to jail for a VERY long time. Spiro ran Stiva's in 'Two for the Money' when Constantine Stiva was in hospital. Mosel is one of Stiva's competitors and, according to Grandma Mazur, he "don't know anything about makeup".

Answer: 'Moon-Man', or 'The Mooner'

Walter 'Moon-Man' Dunphy appears in several books including 'Hot Six', 'Seven Up' and 'Fearless Fourteen'. His life is more confused than Stephanie's and he spends a fair bit of time forgetting things - thanks to the drugs. Moon-Man has lived with Dougie 'The Dealer' and hosted a Star Trek party which ended up almost in a riot when Stephanie tried to arrest Captain Kirk.

At one stage he even found a loaner car (the Rollswagon) for Stephanie after another of hers got wrecked. Tank is one of Ranger's 'merry men'.

Answer: Vincent Plum

Frank Plum (Stephanie's father) doesn't do much except eat, mutter under his breath, watch TV and drive a cab. It is hard to believe that he is in a relationship with his wife, let alone ever be in one with a duck. Joyce is Stephanie's arch-rival and has occasional 'relations' with Vinnie who makes her 'bark like a dog'. Connie works for Vinnie (Vincent) and is fully aware of his attraction to gambling, his 'private parts' and animals.

There are also rumours about Vinnie and a goat.

Answer: Connie Rossoli

Joyce, we know, is Stephanie's arch-nemesis and probably the only place those two would go together is jail - for trying to kill each other. Mary Lou is Stephanie's best friend and is married with three kids and a dog - not likely to be taking a road trip with Stephanie. Valerie is Stephanie's sister and, after moving back from California after her divorce, lived with her parents, got pregnant and ran away the day before her wedding with her lawyer-boss and baby's father, Albert Kloughn (pronounced 'clown'). Connie is the office manager of Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company and has ties to the Mafia.

The only time we really see Connie out of the office is in 'To the Nines' when she organises the trip to Las Vegas to 'help' Stephanie follow up on a lead and spend time exploring the nightlife (ie drinking and gambling).

Answer: Joyce Bernhardt

Joyce has picked on Stephanie ever since grade school and was found on the dining room table with Stephanie's now ex-husband not long after they were married. Joyce also works as a bounty hunter for Vinnie and spends time in his office with Vinnie making her 'bark like a dog', among other things. Joyce spends a lot of time stepping on Stephanie's toes (so to speak) and thinks she is 'hot stuff' running around doing her bounty hunter 'thing'.

Benito Ramirez, whilst one of Stephanie's scary nemeses, was killed in 'High Five' after a confrontation in her apartment with another FTA (failure to appear). Sally Sweet is considered one of Stephanie's friends.

Answer: Mooner

Mooner (Walter Dunphy) is the only non-four-legged animal in this group (he's the human). It is unclear as to what Mooner actually does apart from getting stoned. Bob is Morelli's dog (he first appeared in 'Hot Six'), Rex is Stephanie's hamster (a permanent fixture in the Stephanie Plum series) and Carl is Susan Stitch's pet monkey who makes his first appearance in 'Fearless Fourteen' (Susan Stitch is an FTA (failure to appear) wanted for 'accidentally' running over her boyfriend).
