Answer: Machine Gun

Ryuhei was one of the group killed by Kazuo Kiriyama near the beginning of the game. It is generally accepted that Ryuhei was issued with the infamous machine gun, which was taken by Kazuo, and this opinion is backed up by the film.

Answer: Frogs

Hirono was extremely dehydrated, when she found a well on the island. She drew the water, but even in her dehydrated state, she was unable to drink the water due to the presence of a small frog. While she was distracted by the frog, she left herself open to attack by Toshinori Oda.

Answer: Ryuhei's brother

Ryuhei wasn't originally a member of Kazuo's gang, but after Kazuo helped him, he joined him and remained faithful to the gang. Ryuhei is one of my favourite characters from the story for some reason, even though hardly any information is revealed about him - only Hiroshi Kuronaga and Mayumi Tendo have less revealed about them in the course of the story.

Answer: Shoplifting

Ryuhei's brother had been charged with shoplifting, when Kazuo helped him out and managed to get the charges dropped. I think this shows that Ryuhei came from a somewhat "unsavoury" background, and makes it less surprising that he ended up joining a delinquent group.

Hirono is described as looking much older than her actual age (15). This was probably an advantage to her when she was being pimped out by Mitsuko Souma, as she would probably be more attractive to potential customers.

Answer: She did not get on with either of her parents

Hirono did not have a good relationship with either of her parents, who she felt did not understand her. Her parents found that she had become less like the daughter they once knew, as she got older and got involved with Mitsuko Souma, and their relationship started to disintigrate.

Answer: Yoshio Akamatsu

As with the rest of Kazuo's group, and also Mitsuko's group, Ryuhei had been known to bully his other classmates. In particular, he was known to bully Yoshio Akamatsu, the largest boy in the class.

Hirono was one of a number of students to be issued with a gun in her day pack. Hirono used her gun against Kaori Minami, during their gun fight, but was unable to save herself with it when she was attacked by Toshinori, because of his bullet-proof vest.

Answer: Assault

Hirono had been known to shoplift and take drugs, and she was involved in prostitution, the same as her other friends in Mitsuko's gang. Although Hirono had been known to bully other classmates, it is never mentioned that she was involved in assault.

Answer: Strangled

Hirono was strangled by Toshinori Oda, who attacked her with his belt. At first, she managed to get away, and shot him in the stomach. However, she didn't expect him to be wearing a bullet-proof vest, so she immediately turned her attention back to the well, and was attacked again. In the manga version of the story, Hirono is thrown down the well, and left to die down there - presumably by drowning.

Again, we have a slightly uneven amount of questions about the two, but unfortunately Ryuhei Sasagawa is given limited backstory in the book, presumably due to his early death, and Hirono is quite a prominent character. Ryuhei is one of my favourites in the boys list, and Hirono is one of my favourites from the girls list, so I hope you enjoyed taking this quiz - I enjoyed making it!
