'Coraline': Buttons for Eyes Trivia Quiz

'Coraline' was filmed in a warehouse using stop-motion animation. The models were created using a 3D printer and some of the clothes were knitted by hand. Japanese illustrator Tadahiro Uesugi worked as a concept artist, and over 30 animators and digital designers took part.

Coraline's hair was blue. She also wore a bright yellow coat and wellies, which contrasted against her grim surroundings. When Coraline found the other world, it was a much brighter place where the colours where warmer and more vivid. On the surface, it looked like a much happier place to live.

Miss Spink saw danger in Coraline's tea leaves. The leaves made the shape of a menacing hand, but Miss Forcible wasn't convinced. She turned the cup around and saw a giraffe instead.

The nameless black cat followed Coraline right at the start, on her journey to find the old well. It became suspicious when Wybie told Coraline that his grandmother's sister had gone missing in the Pink Palace. After that, it followed Coraline into the other world and warned her about the Other Mother.

Behind the mirror, Coraline met the ghosts of the three children that the Other Mother had taken in the past. They told her that the rag doll was sent to spy on their lives so that the Other Mother knew how to impress them. All three children let the Other Mother sew buttons into their eyes so that they could stay in the other world forever.

But it was a trick and the Other Mother 'ate up' their lives.

The souls of the ghost children had been taken by the Other Mother. Coraline had to find their eyes so that they could be freed. In order to win her own freedom back, Coraline challenged the Other Mother to a game. If she found the eyes of the ghost children, the Other Mother would have to let her go.

The Other Mother agreed and gave her a clue: 'In each of the wonders I've made for you, a ghost eye is hidden in plain sight.'

There was a Detroit Zoo snow globe, among others, in Coraline's real house. The Other Mother trapped Coraline's real parents in the Detroit Zoo snow globe in the other world. Coraline tricked the Other Mother so that she could rescue the snow globe. When she finally escaped to the real world, the snow globe had smashed and her parents returned home covered in snow.

Neil Gaiman published 'Coraline' in 2002. The film is very similar to the book and follows the same plot. Wybie's character, however, was created just for the film so that Coraline would have someone to talk to. 'Coraline' has also been adapted into a musical, a comic book, and a video game.
