"Morning Glory" is a 1933 film starring Katharine Hepburn as Eva Lovelace. The film tells Eva's story as a struggling actress hoping to make it on Broadway and of all the things she does to reach the top. Douglas Fairbanks Jr. stars as Joseph Sheridan, the creator of the play Eva is hoping to star in. Mary Duncan plays Rita Vernon, an overdramatic diva.

Katharine Hepburn won her first of four Best Actress Oscars for her role in this film. It was also her first of 12 nominations.

In this 1959 film, Hepburn stars as Violet Venable and Elizabeth Taylor plays her niece Catherine Holly. Catherine is institutionalized because she witnessed the death of her cousin Sebastian, Violet's sun. Violet is overbearing on Catherine and she wants her niece to be lobotomized. This is because Violet is desperate to cover up something about her son.

"Long Day's Journey into Night" is a 1962 film starring Katharine Hepburn and Ralph Richardson as Mary and James Tyrone. All of the men in the Tyrone family, including sons James Jr. and Edmund (Jason Robards and Dean Stockwell) are alcoholics while Mary is a morphine addict. While on vacation, their addictions catch up to them with each family member blaming another for a various set of issues and problems.

Rose travels aboard the African Queen with Charlie. The two must navigate down German controlled waters to escape to safety while they battle their feelings for one another.

Answer: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

In this 1967 comedy/drama, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy appear as Christina and Matt Drayton. The Draytons think of themselves as white liberals but are not happy when their daughter Joey (Katharine Houghton) brings home her fiancé, an African-American man, John, (Sidney Poitier) to meet her parents. Christina and Matt are initially unsure if they can support their marriage but eventually Christina says she approves but Matt disagrees.

This is the last film appearance of Spencer Tracy who died about two weeks after filming ended. Katharine Hepburn said she never watched the film as she felt it would be too sad to watch her lover's last film. This movie was filmed while interracial marriages were still illegal in some parts of the United States, though such laws were struck down by the time the film hit theaters. Hepburn won a Best Actress Oscar for her role in this film.
10. Susan Vance, who toys with a paleontologist

Answer: Bringing Up Baby

"Bringing Up Baby" is a 1938 film starring Katharine Hepburn as Susan Vance and Cary Grant as Dr. David Huxley. Huxley is a paleontologist and engaged to marry Alice (Virginia Walker). However, he is trying to impress Susan's aunt Elizabeth Random (May Robson) so she will he fund his museum. Susan falls in love with David and convinces him to help her aunt raise a leopard named Baby. David agrees thinking that this is the perfect way to get Mrs. Random's donation but Susan keeps finding ways to trick David into staying with her aunt because she does not want him to marry Alice.
