Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which Bill Murray movie did the following exchange take place? Sawyer: "...and I don't like no one touching me either! So if any of you (guys) touch me...I'll kill you!" Hulka: "Lighten up Francis! One of these men may save your life one day, ya understand that?" Winger: "Then again maybe one of us won't!"

Answer: Stripes

Francis Sawyer's nickname was "Psycho". He and John Winger were but two of many misfits in Drill Seargeant Hulka's unit. It takes place in a barracks full of new recruits, all introducing themselves, all relating their story on how they each got to be there. This is the best exchange in the movie!
2. In which "Rocky" movie did this exchange take place? Apollo: "What're you afraid of, Tony?" Tony: "He's all wrong for us, babe. (Pauses) I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before and the man kept coming AFTER you. We don't need that kind of man in our lives. I know what you're feeling. Let it go!"

Answer: Rocky II

Apollo is sitting in his office with his trainer and PR people trying to figure the most effective way to get Rocky back in the ring. Rocky's story was based on a fight Sylvester Stallone saw between Muhammad Ali and a little-known fighter named Chuck Wepner. Wepner tried for years to get a piece of the revenue from all the Rocky movies but was ultimately unsuccessful.
3. What movie, featuring the now-popular "Texas Hold-Em" poker game, had this exchange? Worm: "It's like the saying goes: 'In the poker game of life, women are the rake...'" Mike: "What're you talking about?! What saying?!" Worm: "Well...I don't know! (Pauses, thinking) There ought to BE one!"

Answer: Rounders

This scene is right after the part where Mike Mc D comes home to find that his girlfriend has left him because he's gone back to gambling. Worm points out that she even took the sheets...nothing like having your buddy around to make you feel better!
4. In which Tom Cruise movie did this exchange take place? Girlfriend: "Please...I don't want it to end this way!" Brian: "Everything ends badly. Otherwise it wouldn't end..."

Answer: Cocktail

This scene takes place right after a cocktail party where Brian has severely embarrassed his much older girlfriend by getting drunk and then punching a friend of hers. He then breaks up with her by handing back her house key and informing her that he's basically cleaned out the fridge...pretty funny!
5. In which of the five "Rocky" movies did this exchange take place? Adrian: "But you...you gotta want to do it for the right reasons. Not for the guilt over Mickey, not for the people, not for the title, not for money or me. Just you...just you, just you alone." Rocky: "And if I lose?" Adrian: "Then you lose. But at least you lose with no excuses. No fear. And I know you can live with that."

Answer: Rocky III

This scene takes place on the beach, right after Rocky quits in the middle of a foot race with Apollo while they are training for a second fight with Clubber Lang. It turns out to be another "wake-up" call for Rocky...this happens in all the Rocky movies except for the first one!
6. In which Mel Gibson movie did the following exchange take place? William: "...unless we make spears...hundreds of them...long ones!" Hamish: "How long?" William: "Long. Long as a man." Hamish: (smiling) "Well, some men are longer than others." Hamish's father: "Your mother's been telling stories about me!"

Answer: Braveheart

This scene takes place as Wallace, Hamish, and Hamish's dad are trying to figure out how to stand up to the English army. This is a pretty funny line that happens just as Steven the Irishman arrives.
7. In which sci-fi adventure film did this exchange take place? Kimsey: (Talking to Truman) "Why don't we just send up 150 nukes and see if we can't blow this thing out of the sky?" Quincy: "Terrible idea." Kimsey: (Turning to Quincy) "Was I asking you?!" Truman: "General, this is Dr. Ronald Quincy from research. Pretty much the smartest man on the planet--you might want to listen to him!"

Answer: Armageddon

In this scene Truman and Kimsey are in a NASA war room, trying to decide how to blow apart the gigantic asteroid hearding for Earth. In the movie, this is a pretty funny exchange. Looking at it, it only seems mildly amusing.
8. In which "Rocky" movie did this exchange take place? Rocky Jr.: "Are you scared?" Rocky: "Well sometimes I do get a little scared...when I'm in that ring and my arms hurt so much, I can't even lift 'em...I'm thinking to myself 'I wish this guy would hit me on the chin so I don't feel nothin' anymore.' But then...another side comes out and...like...wants to take more, wants to go that one more round. Cuz...goin' that one more round when you don't think you can...that's what makes all the difference in your life."

Answer: Rocky IV

Here's one that always sort of stuck with me. This exchange is more like a monologue than an exchange, but I like it anyway. It happens in Rocky Jr's bedroom as Rocky is getting ready to go to the airport on his way to the U.S.S.R. (I'm kind if a "Rocky" fan...except for "Rocky V"...let's just forget that one happened.)
9. In which horror film did this exchange take place? Diane: "...and I hope they learn to forget all this someday!" Taylor: "We cannot learn by forgetting." Diane: "Well what would you have me do? They're just children for God's sake!" Taylor: "Children are strong and have courage. They've fought wars, built nations! Don't treat them any less than that just because they're young."

Answer: Poltergeist II

This scene takes place outside of Taylor's tent in Diane's back yard. I've always liked this idealistic view of children...very well put. This is the scene where Taylor is explaining to Diane why it's OK for her son Robbie to join the fight against the demon who is trying to take Carol Anne.
10. In which 80s teen movie did this exchange take place? Rat: "Of course...if you put 'the vibe' out to 30 million chicks SOMETHING is gonna happen! Mike: "That's the idea, Rat. That's the attitude!" Rat: (Puzzled) "Attitude?" Mike: (Getting up out of his chair.) "See, the attitude dictates that you don't care if she comes, stays, lays, or prays! I mean, whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'." (Pausing, settling back down into his chair) "When you have that, then you have the attitude."

Answer: Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Sage advice...from a complete knucklehead! In this scene Mike reveals to Rat his "winning way" with girls over a glass of chocolate milk. Poor Rat tries to follow his advice but ends up messing it up. Classic movie!
