Cornelius Fudge instructed him to follow him, where he would be punished for his crime by going to Azkaban. Dumbledore, told Fudge that he did not intend on going to Azkaban and escaped, clutching Fawkes the phoenix by the tail and disappearing.

Harry first saw Dolores Umbridge at his hearing for the Use of Underage Magic. Dolores Umbridge was also the first professor to interrupt Dumbledore's welcome speech to the students at Hogwarts. Lupin was the DADA teacher in "Prisoner of Azkaban", Snape taught Potions, and Fudge was the Minister of Magic.

They got the information out of Cho, who was under the influence of Veritaserum, and everyone was punished to a detention of writing with Umbridge's special quill. Nobody talked to Cho afterward.

It was not until Umbridge asked Snape for more Veritaserum that Harry found out what happened to Cho.

The Cruciatus Curse is one of the Unforgiveable Curses. Avada Kedavra and Imperius Curse are the other two. Harry does use the curse during the movie though. He uses it on Bellatrix Lestrange during their battle at the Ministry. It is ineffective because when you use an Unforgivable Curse, you've got to mean it.

Snape harbored resentment towards Sirius Black for trying to get him killed while they were in school. Snape invaded many of Harry's sentimental memories. Harry also invaded Snape's memory, where he saw his father torturing Snape with the Levicorpus spell.
