Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What board game did Brenda turn into a strip game in "Friday the 13th" (1980)?

Answer: Monopoly

Brenda decided to break up the boredom by playing strip Monopoly. "It's easy, instead of paying rent, you pay clothes." A nice filler scene that lightened the mood before the carnage continued.
2. In "Dawn of the Dead" (1978), when Stephen asked the cop at the police dock where he was headed, he said, "The island." What exotic locale was this officer referring to?

Answer: "Any island."

"Down river. We got an idea maybe we can make it to the island!"
"What Island?"
"Any island."

This is the scene where the group was refueling the helicopter and getting ready to take off. They did not have a definite plan of where they were headed. When the officer asked him where they were headed, Stephen simply replied, "Straight up."
3. Which three beloved horror flicks featured characters with the surname Loomis?

Answer: "Scream", "Halloween", "Psycho"

Billy Loomis was Sydney's boyfriend in "Scream", Dr. Loomis was Michael Myers' former psychiatrist in "Halloween", and Sam Loomis was Marion's hotel room tryst at the beginning of "Psycho". I would like to think that "Halloween" and "Scream" were both paying homage to their respective predecessors.
4. What iconic horror movie actor appeared in the opening sequence in "Hatchet" (2006)?

Answer: Robert Englund

Sampson's (Englund's) son was killed while on a night fishing trip in the Louisiana bayou. He grabbed his harpoon and met a similar fate. Englund is most famous for his role as Freddy Krueger in the "Nightmare On Elm Street" franchise. I think Mr. Englund is done with Freddy, but I know many fans would love to see "Freddy Vs. Jason 2".
5. Who was the first victim of the Gecko brothers in the 1996 film "From Dusk Til Dawn" (1996)?

Answer: Edgar McGraw

McGraw came in for a bottle of Jack so he could get "higher than a Georgia pine". Too bad he didn't get that drink before Richie executed him.
6. How did bad boy Rod Lane bite it in "A Nightmare On Elm Street" (1984)?

Answer: He was hung by Freddy with his bedsheet in jail.

Rod wasn't the nicest person. But, he probably didn't deserve being wrongly accused of Tina's death, and he surely didn't deserve to be hung in his sleep.
Glen did warn Rod that his funeral might be happening soon when he first got to the house.
7. The sanitarium that Michael Myers was incarcerated in was located in what fictional Illinois town in "Halloween" (1978)?

Answer: Smith's Grove

The name of the town pops up on the screen as Dr. Loomis and nurse Marion were driving to the sanitarium to take Michael to court. When did Michael learn to drive?
8. In "The Shining" (1980), what did Danny Torrance use to write "Redrum" on his mother's bedroom door?

Answer: Lipstick

He grabbed his mom's lipstick to write the word. Mom woke up to see the reflection in the mirror. Little Danny was certainly creepy in this scene, but the twin girls in the motel may have trumped his performance.
9. How did Kane get taken out in "Alien" (1979)?

Answer: Chestburster

They were having a nice quiet dinner. Unfortunately, the hitchhiker Kane had on his face earlier that day had left him with a little gift. It decided to make its entrance here, much to the dismay of Kane's fellow crew members.
10. What creature did Hadley hope was the killer in "Cabin In the Woods" (2012)?

Answer: Mer-Man

He was right in the end, the Mer-Man was one of the killers. But, it did not end well for Hadley. What were his last words? "Oh, come on!" Be careful what you wish for Mr. Hadley!
