Squaw Valley reached the height of its popularity in 1960, hosting that year's Winter Olympics. In that Olympiad, the USA Hockey team, made entirely of amateur players, won the gold medal. This served as the prelude to the "Miracle on Ice" gold-medal-winning USA Hockey team in the 1980 Olympics, also held in the USA (Lake Placid).

Fergie The Motormouth ("Shut Up!") was one of the cuts from the original qualifying runs. The rest of the Rat Pack was also concerned about Dogger's failure to qualify ("Fergie and Dogger ski better than most of the Europeans") but Dogger was not one of the official Pack members. The seventh official member was Michelle, aka "Banana Pants."

Slasher's hometown was mentioned by the public address announcer as he was taking the starting gun for the ballet portion of the competition, the first of the three events.

Answer: Kitzbuehl, Austria

Kitzbuehl is home to one of the most famous (and dangerous) actual World Cup downhill courses in the world. Austrian skiers are tradtionally packed near the top of most Alpine World Cup standings every year. Because of his name, Rudi is often considered to be German. His hometown was also announced over the PA as he entered the starting gate for freestyle ballet.

All of the numbers listed are "Rat Pack" assigned. Dan was number 71, 70 belonged to Slasher and Kendo "Kamikaze" skied with 42.

Sylvia (played by a young and fresh-from-Playboy Shannon Tweed) throws a pre-competition party at her estate to which all of the skiers are invited. After a few hours, Dan ends up serving drinks behind the basement bar when a voluptuous lady sits down and asks to be served "something hot." Dan's ingredients: "Start with some vodka, then some scotch...a little brandy, some Myers Rum, and the splash of a lemon twist."

This "induction" takes place in the lodge, right before the qualifying results are posted. From Question 2, all of the Rat Pack members, including Harkin, qualify - with the exception of Fergie.

Dan faked an injury and used the medical stretcher to hide four 12-packs of Coors, which gets tossed to the Rat Pack. After Rudi and his team arrive, Rudi discloses that he slept with Harkin's girl Sunny. However, Harkin had also hooked up the prior evening with Rudi's ex, Sylvia, in a great hot tub scene.

BroomBall is played on an ice hockey rink with brooms used as sticks and a large rubber ball (about the size of an Olympic shot put) as a puck. Kendo was actually playing goaltender for the Pack as well; he made a save, ran all the way down to the other end, deked the Austrian goalie and threw it in the net.

The Rat Pack got destroyed in the game, however. As Dan said afterwards, "We were small, but we were slow!"

Dan and Rudi take the opening draw and Dan delivers the broom shot. Rudi later lays out Harkin with a left hook. Squirrel is the victim of an open-ice hip check. Later, Dan confronts the female Austrian team member and asks "Free for dinner?" before she lays him out with a right cross. The Austrian girl and Banana Pants then get into a catfight.

The night before, after the BroomBall game, Dan and Harkin sabotage all the Austrian team's skis by accessing the Austrian locker room. Dan was able to get in because the Austrian team had been assigned Dan's own combination lock!

Since there were five skiers and only enough room for four on a tram car, the Rat Pack "threw numbers" to see who would have to ride alone. Dan tipped off everyone else so that Squirrel would lose. After the four others left in the first car (number 34), Squirrel thought he'd ride alone...until Tracy jumped in at the last second. Squirrel had a lot of extra places to apply his zinc oxide on that ride!

After the judges had "awarded" the overall competition championship to Rudi, Dan felt that a race was in order to "have the trophy go to the REAL champion" (who he, and the fans, thought was Harkin). Dan and Rudi agreed to the "Chinese Downhill," a spectacular anything-goes downhill race, in which the winner would receive the cash pot and the championship trophy.

Kendo provides the well-placed kick ("Sayonara!"). Rudi and Harkin battle their way down the mountain at the front of the pack; in the end, Harkin beats Rudi to the trophy and grabs it to win the Chinese Downhill! An action-packed ending to a film scattered with lots of exciting (and in some cases extreme) skiing scenes!
