Mick asks what the gang did the night before. They begrudgingly admit that they didn't do anything. Mick responds, "Tomorrow, when someone asks you the same question, you can say, 'We didn't do nothin,' or you can say, 'We went out to Long Island and helped this lunatic storm a fortress.' At the very least you can come and see me get my head blown off." Mick does give Rat his jacket (which Rat later returns), but this is after the gang has already agreed to help Mick.

Teddy, the tracker, learns that Rico is after Mick Dundee. As an Aborigine, Teddy's loyalty is to Mick. He walks off before the others can catch him.

Mick runs through the camp while Erskine is keeping watch and everyone else is asleep, throwing a snake in a bag at Erskine. Erskine starts screaming and wakes the group. Denning pulls the snake out of the bag and says disgustedly, "It's just a python, you big girl."

Denning encounters Nugget in the bush and informs him that he should have brought a gun instead of a beer, to which Nugget makes this reply. Donk, a hulking bear of a man, emerges from the bush and lays Denning out with one sucker punch.

Wally and Sue follow Mick to Jaba Point out of concern. Mick switches clothes with Rico to fool Miguel, but Wally sees Mick from afar and mistakenly thinks he's Rico. Thankfully, Mick is not seriously wounded. Mick's Aborigine friend Charlie remarks, "Mick's bloody lucky you can't shoot straight, Wal'."
