Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part I)" provides musical backdrop for the introduction of Zac as a teenager. The song appears on Pink Floyd's album "Wish You Were Here", released in 1975. "C.R.A.Z.Y." director, Jean-Marc Vallée, spent a considerable portion of the film's budget acquiring the rights to period-appropriate and socially influential music of the 1960s and 1970s.

One of the funniest scenes in the movie draws inspiration from this classic song by The Rolling Stones. "Sympathy for the Devil" first appeared as the opening track of the 1968 album "Beggars Banquet". The song is sung as a first-person narrative and commentary from the point of view of a suave and sophisticated Lucifer.

The lyrics have been said to be inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov's novel "The Master and Margarita".

This is another great use of music, this time from David Bowie. "Space Oddity" was released as a single in 1969, supposedly to coincide with the first lunar landing. The song tells the story of Major Tom, a fictional astronaut who becomes lost in outer space.

All the brothers have very distinct personalities. Yvan is the baby of the family, and is constantly taunted by his older siblings. Teenage Yvan was played by Félix-Antoine Despatie.

Taking place in the pouring rain, this is a highly emotional scene between Zac and his father. Zac's girlfriend, Michelle, also overhears his confession, which spurs Zac to leave Canada and travel abroad.

Zac's father is a huge fan of Patsy Cline. Her song, "Crazy", can be heard several times through the course of the film. The title of the film is in reference to this song, and to the brothers initials (Christian, Raymond, Antoine, Zachary, Yvan).

Ray is the most troubled and rebellious of the brothers. He is played by Pierre-Luc Brillant as an adult. He plays guitar in a humoristic music band called "Les Batteux Slaques".
