Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which is not one of the super powers possessed by the Fantastic 4?

Answer: Electricity Control

The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) can fly as well as control fire. The Invisible Woman (Sue Storm) can create force fields and become invisible. The Thing (Ben Grimm) has super human strength, and Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) can stretch his body, also called elasticity. The villian - Dr. Doom (Victor Von Doom) is the one who can control electricity.
2. Does the ending of this movie leave you feeling certain that Dr. Doom is actually dead?

Answer: No

Although the Fantastic 4 beat him in the end, there are some hints that he is not actually dead but just frozen. For example, after he is beaten, they lock him away in a crate but as they go to close it, the electrical things like the lightbulbs begin to surge and go haywire as if Dr. Doom is still alive inside his frozen state.
3. What country is Victor originally from?

Answer: Latveria

Latveria is actually not a real country and only exists in the Fantastic 4 comics. The country is mentioned in the movie by one of the bankers when they refuse to give Victor a loan. At the very end of the film, Latveria is printed on the crate Victor is stored in. In the comics, Victor is the ruler of Latveria. Victor is played by Julian McMahon of Nip/Tuck fame.
4. What is Johnny's response when Reed first uses his stretch powers, to reach under a door and open it from the other side?

Answer: That's gross!

He has to open the door because Ben is screaming in pain from the other side. Johnny (The Human Torch), played by Chris Evans, is the - pardon the pun - comic relief in this action-filled movie and is rather funny in my opinion.
5. How does each one of the five people exposed to the cosmic storm come out with a different power?

Answer: Their powers reflect their personalities

Reed Richards is always coming up with far-out ideas and always reaching for the stars, thus the elasticity. Sue Storm is always very protective of her brother Johnny, thus her defensive powers of invisibility and force fields. Johnny is always cocky and a hot-head, thus the fire. Ben always tries to use force over words, thus the strength. Victor wants to be powerful, thus the electricity.
6. What is the name of Ben Grimm's fiancee?

Answer: Debbie

Ben calls her Debs and when she sees him as The Thing she gives him back his ring and leaves him. He later finds another girlfriend who is blind and doesn't care what he looks like.
7. Who has a very quick, but significant cameo in this movie?

Answer: Stan Lee

Stan Lee plays a mailman in Reed Richards' building. He is the creator of the "Fantastic 4", "X-men", "Daredevil", "Spiderman" and "Hulk". Stan Lee basically put Marvel Comics on the map.
8. Which is not one of the ways Dr. Doom tries to kill the Fantastic 4?

Answer: Bombing their base

He tries to freeze Reed because if rubber cools down it can easily be broken. He launches a heat-seeking missile at Johnny which he dodges. He turns Ben back to his normal human form so he cannot help fight. Later Ben turns himself back to The Thing so he can help the team beat Victor.
9. How do the Fantastic 4 ultimately stop Dr. Doom?

Answer: They solidify him

Johnny creates a cyclone of fire around Dr. Doom while Sue contains it with her force field. This heats his metal skeleton up to super high temperatures. Then Ben kicks open a hydrant and Reed directs the cold water right on him. This solidifies him immediately. If metal is heated to high temperatures and then rapidly cooled, the structure of the metal solidifies permanently.
10. Who directed the movie?

Answer: Tim Story

Tim Story is an interesting choice for the director of this movie. He doesn't exactly have the best resume, and that is usually what production offices look for in directors of high budget films. He has directed "Taxi" with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifa and "Barbershop" with Cedric the Entertainer and Ice Cube. Sam Raimi has directed the "Spider-man" movies, Bryan Singer - the "X-men" movies, and Oley Sassone has directed the original "Fantastic 4" in 1994.
