Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Stuart Sutcliffe was the Beatles original bassist. Then, when they were on a tour in Germany, Stu fell in love and quit. A few years later, he died. How did he die?

Answer: brain aneurysm

Before he died, Pete Best was kicked out of the band, so the Beatles were without a drummer or a bassist. Then, Paul went to bass. When Stu died in 1962, the Beatles recruited Ringo to play drums.
2. Not all the Beatles go by their birth names. Ringo and Paul don't. Paul's first name is actually James, so what is Ringo's real name?

Answer: Richard Starkey

He was given the nickname Ringo Starr on account of the rings he wore.
3. In which city, date and time was John Lennon shot and killed?

Answer: New York City, December 8, 1980, 11:00 PM

The ones about November, and he's still living are not true. About the October 9th one ... that's his birthday! John was killed two months after his birthday. He was only forty. :(
4. How did George Harrison die?

Answer: cancer

George smoked so many cigarettes, he developed cancer. Sadly, it soon spread to his brain. He never made it to sixty.
5. On what street was the Cavern Club?

Answer: Mathew Street

The 'Cavern Club Street' was to test if you fall for obvious traps like that. The Cavern Club Street wasn't a real street! Lincoln and Washington are likely somewhere in Liverpool, but the Cavern Club wasn't on them.
6. The Beatles made an album with no breaks between songs. What was it?

Answer: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

They didn't link songs together as "With the Beatles" and "Please Please Me". They did link some songs together on" Abbey Road". But "Sgt. Pepper" was the first one like that they ever did. It was one of many continuous albums at the time.
7. In the song 'In My Life', when John sings: 'With lovers and friends, I still can recall Some are dead and some are living' who is one of the friends he is talking about?

Answer: Stuart Sutcliffe

He was talking about Stuart Sutcliffe! His friend that died is the one he was talking about. Stu is the only option that was actually dead when John wrote this song in 1965.
8. The Beatles had many hit singles. What was the last single they had in the US?

Answer: The Long And Winding Road

"Please Please Me" was one of their first singles, and "Revolution" was one in 1968. "Revolution 9" wasn't even close to being a single!
9. What was Ringo's first wife's name?

Answer: Maureen

None of the others were ever married to him.
10. Which of the Beatles was rumored to be 'dead' when the "Abbey Road" album was released?

Answer: Paul

Before shooting the album cover, he took his sandals off and walked across the road barefoot. When people saw that, they thought it meant he was dead. He wasn't!
